He scrapped the 4-4-2 and dropped Patrick Cutrone to the bench, with Davide Calabria and Hakan Calhanoglu moving to midfield. Fiorentina welcomed back Nikola Milenkovic, Jordan Veretout and Edimilson Fernandes from bans.
