The Rossoneri had to pour all their focus into clawing a top four finish after going out of the Europa League at the hands of Arsenal. Alessio Romagnoli, Davide Calabria and Ignazio Abate were out injured, but Nikola Kalinic was dropped for showing a poor attitude in training. The Flying Donkeys were very much grounded by three defeats in a row, missing Alessandro Gamberini and Riccardo Meggiorini.
