A rare Luca Antonelli goal gave Milan their second consecutive victory, the third loss on the bounce for Chievo. It is also their first clean sheet of the campaign.

The Rossoneri ended their negative streak at the weekend, but even then struggled to beat 10-man Sassuolo 2-1, so the pressure was still on Sinisa Mihajlovic. He again picked 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but Mario Balotelli, Jeremy Menez and Mbaye Niang were sidelined. Perparim Hetemaj didn’t make the trip and Rolando Maran’s men were coming off unlucky defeats to Sampdoria and Napoli.
