Galliani: 'Ronaldinho is staying, Dzeko won't come'

Adriano Galliani has reiterated that Ronaldinho will stay at Milan while also dismissing claims that he is preparing a bid for Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko.

Earlier this week, reports in Brazil suggested that Ronaldinho had a verbal agreement to join Flamengo possibly in January next year.

However, Galliani has rubbished the reports, insisting that he will hold talks with Ronaldinho to discuss his contract in the autumn.

“Ronaldinho is a Milan player and he will definitely play for Milan next season,” Galliani said.

When asked about Flamengo's interest, he said: “No one has ever been in touch.

“Ronaldinho is coming back to Italy with his brother and up till now there has been no request to leave on his part and no offer in his regard.

“He has a contract with Milan and one without any fanciful clause that I read recently in the newspapers. I repeat: Dinho is a Milan player and he will play for Milan next season.”

Galliani then gave his reaction to claims in this morning's La Gazzetta dello Sport that Edin Dzeko is waiting for a bid from Milan.

“No, there isn't any deal,” he said.

Finally, Galliani responded to speculation that Milan are about to sign Genoa's Greece international defender Sokratis Papasthatopoulos.

“Yes, it's underway, but it's yet to be concluded.”
