Milan failed to score in four consecutive Serie A games for the first time since 1984, as Gianluigi Donnarumma and VAR avoided defeat to Frosinone.

Gennaro Gattuso was fighting to keep his job after a series of poor results, including crashing out of the Europa League and failing to score for three consecutive Serie A games for the first time since 2001. Mateo Musacchio got his first appearance since November 8. The Canarini earned a positive draw away to Udinese on Coach Marco Baroniís debut, having replaced Moreno Longo. Luca Paganini, Federico Dionisi and Emil Hallfredsson were still long-term absentees, but ex-Milan youth product Paolo Ghiglione was surprisingly given his Serie A debut.
