Atalanta director Pierpaolo Marino has revealed that they completed Giacomo Bonaventura’s sale in ‘five minutes’.
La Dea were thought to be in negotiations with Inter for their young playmaker, but the board members has admitted that when those talks broke down, a deal with Milan took no time at all.
“Bonaventura had been tracked by Inter over the last few days, but then, in the afternoon, the lad seemed undecided,” he told reporters.
“Then, at about 19.30 we knew that a move was off so we forgot about it. But after Biabiany’s move to Milan fell through, we received a phone call from Milan.
“Inzaghi spoke to Galliani, and then within five minutes we had come to an agreement.
“We have great respect for everyone at Milan, and we’re glad we could come to such a quick and mutually beneficial deal.”
Bonaventura completed his switch late last night, with his agent admitting that he cried when signing a five-year deal.
