Chelsea drop AC Milan target Torres

Source: Football Italia

Fernando Torres was dropped from Chelsea’s squad against Leicester, fuelling rumours of a move to Milan.

Jose Mourinho surprisingly didn’t even pick Torres for the bench this weekend after the Spaniard wasn’t called on to play against Burnley.

This has further fuelled existing reports in Italy that Milan have targeted Torres as their ideal replacement for Mario Balotelli, who is set to join Liverpool for £16m.

It is likely the Rossoneri will ask for the striker on loan with option to buy at the end of the season.

It has been claimed Milan will send over a delegation to discuss terms with Torres tomorrow or Monday, presenting their project under new Coach Pippo Inzaghi.

Chelsea paid £50m to take Torres from Liverpool, but he never fully delivered on that extraordinary price-tag.
