Milan Coach Clarence Seedorf credits a team ethic for the Rossoneri’s recent turnaround in form.

The San Siro outfit have won their last five Serie A matches to rise to seventh in the table and now harbour genuine hopes of qualifying for the Europa League.

Ahead of his side’s match with Roma tomorrow, the Dutchman also paid tribute to the job done by Giallorossi counterpart Rudi Garcia.

“The credit goes to the group,” Seedorf said at a Press conference. “From the very first day they showed they wanted to come through the bad situation.

“They have done well in the League. Even when we went out of the Champions League, the team worked with conviction and it was just a question of time.

“We are still not where we want to be, we still want to improve and do the best we can.

“We work as a team. Everyone has given something to allow us to have this good period. For me it’s a question of the team.

“Highest average points since Ancelotti? That seems surreal to me. We are talking about one of the best Coaches in the world. I am just happy for the team, which has now found that enthusiasm.

“I have great respect for Roma and for the work Garcia has done. The focus of all the big teams is to impose their own game and ideas.

“It will be tough to stop them as individuals. We need to put in a great performance as a team.

“Roma-Milan is always a good match to watch, there are targets for both teams to aim for.

“It will be a hard-fought match and we will need to play well, as we have done on many occasions.

“We’ll be playing against a very good team in great shape who have conceded less goals than anyone else.

“I can only compliment them.”

The tactician then discussed several of his players, as well as his excellent relationship with Milan legend Arrigo Sacchi.

“It’s been seven months that El Shaarawy has been out for. He had a few problems when playing for the Eccellenza team, so we need to get him in the right shape to be ready for Serie A.

“He needs to play 70 minutes with the Primavera before we put him back in the squad. We can’t risk someone who is so important.

“Honda is ready to play. I still haven’t decided whether Poli will. De Sciglio came back during the week after three weeks out.

“I have seen very little of him, he has been out for two of the three months I’ve been here. He is still a very important player for me. He needs to get back fit and then there will be no problems.

“Taarabt is doing very well, he is showing great application and availability. He is starting to understand that he can’t do everything by himself.

“In the past he was a player who had to do everything himself. Now he has found other players who can also make the difference.

“Now he is alternating his own individual moves with ones with his teammates.

“I have had a great relationship with Sacchi for years. I respect him so much, he is one of the great masters of football.

“I can say it is always very pleasurable to talk to him about football. Our exchanges always help me develop.”
