Milan have suffered a real blow ahead of next season after it emerged that Ronaldinho will be out for a month with a muscle injury.

The 30-year-old Brazilian will undergo a scan later today to determine the scale of the damage.

However, initial indications suggest Ronaldinho will be out for 'at least 30 days'.

The former World Player of the Year had only started training with the rest of the squad yesterday after being told to spend the first week of pre-season in the gym.

He will miss the Emirates Cup, which is due to be held this weekend in London.

Ronaldinho's injury will have done little to ease the concerns of Milan's fans.

The Rossoneri lost 2-0 to Serie B side Varese at the weekend and have been very frugal in the transfer market.
