Galliani: 'No AC Milan reinforcements' 28.7 || webmaster
Source: Football Italia
Milan have cleared the air with Gennaro Gattuso, but Adriano Galliani warns the fans. “I doubt there will be reinforcements.”
The Rossoneri lost their opening friendly test with Varese and supporters protested at the lack of changes to the ageing squad, but the club is not taking action.
“Will we work on the market to bring in reinforcements? I doubt it, but we’ll see,” replied Vice-President Galliani.
Among the talents who had been linked with a transfer was CSKA Moscow and Japan star Keisuke Honda.
“It’s a problem, as it will be difficult to get Honda when he doesn’t have an EU passport. You’d have to ask the FIGC about that.
“None of the big stars will be leaving. As Inter’s Massimo Moratti says, if you have to make sacrifices then you have to do it with the players who are requested, not the ones who aren’t sought-after.
“Well, the ones who have been requested will not be sold and the others are not sought-after.”
Among those apparently staying at San Siro for another season is Gattuso, who had been on the verge of walking out.
“We cleared the air last night in a meeting with Coach Massimiliano Allegri. I’d say that the skies are blue again.
“I’d like to thank both Gianluca Zambrotta and Massimo Oddo, who will earn in two years only a little more than they had been earning in 12 months. We believe many players could stay with us in 2011-12 too.”
