Zambrotta: 'AC Milan are competitive' 27.7 || webmaster
Source: Football Italia
Gianluca Zambrotta believes Milan can challenge for honours on all fronts despite investing rather modestly in the transfer market this summer.
The Rossoneri have already been written off following their 2-0 defeat to Serie B side Varese in a friendly match.
“I believe that Inter are still the team to beat,” he said. “They are the strongest around, then we are together with Juve and Roma.
“I believe that this is what it looks like on paper, but on the pitch things can change.”
When asked about Milan's lack of activity on the transfer market, Zambrotta said: “It's not my job to be a director of sport.
“I believe that Milan are already competitive enough to fight on three fronts. I don't believe there is any need for particular investments.
“It was like this last year and then we did well and were challenging for the Scudetto.
“Allegri is a capable young Coach who has a lot to give. He'll do well.”
