Milan's holding company Fininvest have denied claims that Silvio Berlusconi plans to sell a stake in the club to Russian gas giant Gazprom.
This morning's La Gazzetta dello Sport led with a report that Berlusconi had agreed to sell a 25-30 per cent stake in Milan for €180m.
After issuing an official denial last week amid speculation that Berlusconi is looking to sell the club, Fininvest released a statement this afternoon that simply read: “There is nothing else to add.”
Sergey Kuprianov, a spokesman from Gazprom, also took the opportunity to reject the claims, saying that 'there is no deal in progress' with Milan.
Interestingly though La Gazzetta have come out and stood by their sources, maintaining that the information they received was correct.
