Reggina surprised Roma and President Lillo Foti is confident his minnows can do the same to Milan on Saturday.
The Amaranto held Luciano Spalletti’s side to a 2-2 draw last week and seem to have rediscovered their form since bringing back boss Nevio Orlandi.
“We are stepping on to the field well aware that we are facing a great squad,” said President Foti of tomorrow’s big game.
“But we hope to stop Milan’s run, just as we did last week with Roma.”
Reggina are still propping up the Serie A table and risk ending their own streak of nine years in the top flight.
“In these nine years Reggina have always struggled to reach the objective of safety, but I am optimistic and think we can do it this season, too.”
The Calabrians make the trip without a host of injured players, including Franco Brienza, Fabio Ceravolo, Luca Vigiani and Edgar Barreto.
Milan have Andrea Pirlo sitting out a ban, while Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Marco Borriello, Giuseppe Favalli and Emerson are sidelined.
Last week Orlandi surprised by fielding Francesco ‘Ciccio’ Cozza in a Pirlo-style deep midfield playmaker position and could replicate the tactic at San Siro.
