Massimiliano Allegri is delighted with the arrival of Nigel De Jong, but still says that Milan may only be targeting a top three finish this season.
Earlier today upon completing the capture of Dutch midfielder De Jong from Manchester City, Vice-President Adriano Galliani had asserted that the club’s ambition remained a fight for the Scudetto.
“We are playing for one of the first three positions in the League, whilst the minimum target to make the group stage of the Champions League,” reflected the tactician in response.
“Juventus remains the favourite for the title, but we will try to fight with them for it.
“I’ve never lost enthusiasm, otherwise I would have gone. It is normal that when a team has completely changed that it will take time. We must forget Milan of the past few years, we now have a very young team.
“It is normal that I am angry at the defeat from Sunday, but we did not deserve that defeat.”
Tomorrow the team travel away to Bologna.
“They are a difficult team to deal with and they have a very good Coach. Diamanti is definitely their most dangerous man, whilst Acquafresca and Gilardino are a formidable attack.
“Certainly we will have to play better than we did last week. Bologna have lost some important players like Di Vaio and Ramirez, but they will certainly cause us some difficulty.”
The Coach was asked his view on this week’s arrivals so far, De Jong and Bojan Krkic.
“Bojan is a great young player, he did very well at Barcelona and just as good for Roma. De Jong is the element that was missing in midfield, because in that role we had only had Ambrosini.
“We needed to increase the technical level of the team and De Jong is a very good buy, especially in light of our game, as a midfielders that fits in.
“Our midfielders also score a lot of goals on average. We must continue along this path. To win games we will need our champions, as it was when Zlatan Ibrahimovic was here.
“Not all teams have champions of the highest level, only a few teams can afford them.
“Now we are pretty covered in all roles, there are still a few hours until the end of the window, but I do not think there will be any more news.
“With the players I have available I can now try out some different tactics.”
However, Allegri appeared reluctant when asked if one would include adopting the popular three-man defence.
“We definitely have the players to play three at the back, but it is not a matter of formation, but rather a question of mentality.”

Italian giants Milan have published a brief note on their website announcing the arrival of Nigel De Jong.
The midfielder has been signed on a permanent basis from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. He has put pen to paper on a contract until June 2015.
The Dutchman has been included in the Diavolo squad which will take on Bologna in Serie A this weekend.

Former striker Pippo Inzaghi has applauded Milan’s decision to sign Nigel De Jong from Manchester City.
“He’ll be very useful,” Inzaghi, who is now a youth team Coach with the Diavolo after his contract expired in June, stated. “I’m happy that he has arrived.
“De Jong was an opponent of ours in that mythical 3-2 Champions League game and also in a number of other European ties between Ajax and Milan.”
The 27-year-old arrived in Italy on Thursday after a deal was done between the two clubs. He started his medical this morning.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has told boss Massimiliano Allegri to go and win the Scudetto following the capture of Nigel De Jong.
The Rossoneri have done a deal with Manchester City for the Dutchman who will reinforce a side which lost a host of key players over the summer.
“Now Allegri has no more excuses,” Galliani told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “Milan, thanks to our last four signings, are now back in the Scudetto race.
“De Jong is one of the strongest players in Europe in his role and he will, without a doubt, do very well for us.
“The gap between ourselves and our rivals has decreased and Allegri can no longer hide. We need to play to win the League, not to just finish third.”
The Diavolo have gone through some mass changes after most of their veterans left at the end of their contracts in June, while the club sold Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris SG.
As well as De Jong, Milan have also recently brought in Giampaolo Pazzini, Bojan Krkic and M'Baye Niang.
The Rossoneri started the season last weekend with a 1-0 home defeat to Sampdoria.

The Dutch midfielder is set for his medical tomorrow after the clubs agreed on a fee worth €4.4m - £3.5m.

Milan director Umberto Gandini warns their Champions League group is “very balanced” against Anderlecht, Zenit and Malaga.
The Rossoneri had a pretty soft draw in Group C, as they were among the top seeds, but will not get too over-enthusiastic.
“We have learned never to take anything for granted, especially in the Champions League,” director Gandini told Sky Sport Italia.
“This looks like a very balanced group, as the other teams are all more or less on a similar level.
“Luciano Spalletti’s Zenit look like the toughest opponents, while Malaga deserve respect for being the fourth strongest team in La Liga last season.
“Mind you, it could’ve been much worse, as there were moments during the draw when we were close to some far tougher obstacles.
“Milan are a squad who need to gain self-confidence and these types of opponents could help the squad to grow. We must face the challenges with the right attitude.

Milan have agreed a £3.5m fee with Manchester City for Nigel De Jong, confirming he'll arrive for a medical tomorrow.
Talks for the 27-year-old have been on-going for several days and had ground to a halt this morning, but tonight Milan Channel announced "De Jong is on his way to Milan. The medical will be performed tomorrow."
It is suggested that De Jong is already at the airport with Milan director Ariedo Braida.
De Jong’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, so City were eager not to lose him on a free transfer.

Milan have unveiled another new signing, with M'Baye Niang laughing off comparisons between himself and countryman Thierry Henry.
The 17-year-old Frenchman was presented as a Rossoneri player a short while ago at Milanello.
"Don't compare me to Thierry Henry and Mario Balotelli,” he said. “I am Niang.”
The former Caen striker is confident he can make an impact right away.
“Am I here for the future? No, I'm here for the present. My dream is to win the Ballon d'Or.”
Niang will not be involved in Milan's game at Bologna on Saturday however, as Fifa are yet to clear the transfer. The teenager scored five times in 30 senior appearances for Caen, and has also broken into the French Under-21 side.

Bojan krkic has questioned his treatment by former club Roma at his official unveiling as a Milan player.
The Spanish international was speaking at a press conference at Milanello, having left Rome after only a season at the Stadio Olimpico to join the Rossoneri on a one-year loan deal.
“My relationship with Roma was weird from the beginning. I didn't get to play much. I didn't reach an agreement with Roma, and then Milan offered me the opportunity to play. It's an honour for me to be here”
“I am here at Milan to stay. I want to do well here and help the team. I am here for a year, but I want to stay after my loan deal expires next summer.
“It has been incredible for me since day one. The players here have really given me a great welcoming.”
The product of Barcelona's La Masia academy went on to tease the Diavolo fans, by revealing that a current Blaugrana player wants to join him in Italy.
“Someone from Barca said that he wants to join Milan, I can't say who it is though. I often speak with my former team mates there, and they're all very happy for me.”

Milan’s proposed swoop for Nigel De Jong is on hold as discussions with Manchester City regarding a fee continue.
The Dutchman is being targeted by the Rossoneri given that boss Massimiliano Allegri has asked for a new midfielder following the loss of Mark Van Bommel.
The latter was a stable figure in the plans of Allegri before he opted to return to PSV when his contract expired in June.
Reports on Thursday suggest that the Diavolo have offered €4m for De Jong, but Roberto Mancini’s club are asking for €8m.

The Rosanero are looking for a new left-back after they decided to sell Italian international Federico Balzaretti to Roma this month.

Juventus and Milan will learn the names of their Champions League opponents when the draw takes place on Thursday evening.
Serie A will have just two entrants this term after Udinese failed to get past Sporting Braga in the preliminaries on Tuesday.
Milan are amongst the top seeds, while champions Juventus find themselves in pot three along with Paris Saint-Germain.
There are 32 teams in the draw and they will be split into eight groups of four once the ceremony in Monaco begins at 16.45 BST.

Milan are reportedly close to a deal with Manchester City for midfielder Nigel De Jong for €7m – around £5.5m.
The Rossoneri had said on Tuesday that their transfer market had concluded with the arrival of Bojan Krkic from Roma and Caen striker M’Baye Niang.
However, it’s reported that negotiations are in full swing with City for the 27-year-old Dutch international.
De Jong’s contract expires in June 2013, so he is considered to be a valid target who could arrive relatively cheap.
There are suggestions that Barbara Berlusconi – the daughter of President Silvio Berlusconi, member of the Board of Directors and girlfriend of Alexandre Pato – was crucial in convincing her father to push ahead with the transfer.
British media claim Milan are still hoping to get De Jong on loan for £2m, but that seems to be unlikely.
He arrived from Hamburg in 2009 and recently rejected a contract extension at Manchester City, as he would prefer to find more playing time elsewhere.
AC Milan's Acerbi needs time to shine

The agent of Francesco Acerbi has insisted that the player will need time before he can prove his worth at Milan.
The defender, 24, joined the Diavolo in the summer on a co-ownership basis from Genoa after impressing at Chievo last term.
“Acerbi is working hard to get into the best shape possible,” representative Andrea Cattoli told Milan News.

Adriano Galliani admits Milan “turned down” the chance to sign Sampdoria’s Angelo Palombo and ruled out Andy Carroll after securing Bojan Krkic and M’Baye Niang. "Our market is closed."
It has been a very busy day at the Milanello training ground, as in the last few hours the Rossoneri have officially signed Niang from Caen and Roma striker Bojan arrived to complete his loan transfer.

Bojan Krkic has left Roma and confirmed to journalists “it’s all official, I am going to Milan.”
The Spaniard has been in advanced negotiations to complete the loan switch for this season and that looks to be completed this evening.
“It’s all official, I am going to Milan,” he told journalists as he was entering Rome’s Fiumicino Airport this afternoon.
Bojan emptied out his locker at the Trigoria training ground today and preferred the San Siro option to a potential loan with Liga side Malaga.

Milan have officially signed striker M’baye Niang from French side Caen with a three-year contract.
The player arrived at the Milanello training ground this afternoon to undergo a medical and the club announced the deal soon after.
The financial details of the agreement with Caen have not been released, but it was confirmed this is a permanent transfer.
Still only 17, Niang is one of the most impressive young prospects in French football and has been with Caen since the age of 13. He had also been heavily linked with Everton over the last few weeks.
His new contract with Milan expires on June 30 2015.
AC Milan lose Robinho for a month

Milan’s injury crisis is already in full flow, as after Alexandre Pato’s setback now Robinho is out for up to a month.
The official club website released a statement this afternoon confirming tests had shown a “first degree strain to the right thigh during Sunday’s Milan-Sampdoria match.
“The recovery time is expected to be three to four weeks, save for complications.”
It is another bitter blow for the Rossoneri, who already lost Pato to a muscular problem during the Trofeo Berlusconi earlier this month.
Missing Robinho will only further add to the striker shortage, which is now becoming chronic.
Ambitious Livorno plot Nesta swoop

Livorno are planning an audacious attempt to sign former Milan defender Alessandro Nesta on loan during the MLS break.
The Tuscan club currently lie second in Serie B, having been relegated from Serie A in 2010.
Aged 36, Nesta left Milan last May after 10 years of service at San Siro, rejecting a new deal with the Rossoneri in favour of joining up with fellow Italians Marco Di Vaio and Matteo Ferrari at MLS club Montreal Impact.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Livorno President Aldo Spinelli revealed that at a dinner with Impact owner Joey Saputo the idea of bringing Nesta to the Stadio Armando Picchi had been broached.
“Yesterday at dinner the owner of Montreal explained to me that from October to March, their League is stopped,” the Amaranto patron said. “Hence the idea was born of taking the greatest defender of all time on loan.
“Certainly, it won't be easy to carry out. Maybe the player wants to rest, maybe I will try other teams. But we'll try anyway. With Nesta in defence Livorno would win the championship.”
Nesta would be following in the footsteps of David Beckham, who twice played for Milan during the MLS break in 2009 and 2010.
Whether he would be willing to return to Italy so soon after leaving, and play in the the second tier, is another question.

Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida says he has no idea why Antonio Cassano requested a transfer.
The Italian joined Inter last week after telling the Diavolo, a club he only joined in January 2011, that he wanted out.
“He asked to be sold with insistence,” Braida stated. “He asked us once, five times, 10, 100… It got to the stage when there was nothing else we could do.
“Obviously something wasn’t right. I had a meeting with him, but I didn’t understand the motive for his departure. He didn’t tell me.
“It’s all a bit complicated,” Braida added. “There are problems in life that can be resolved and others that can’t, but he should have been clearer.”

AC Milan meet Roma for Bojan

Milan are holding talks with Roma on Tuesday in a bid to net Bojan Krkic on a loan deal for the 2012-13 campaign.
Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini arrived at Milan’s Via Turati headquarters this morning for discussions with Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani.
“We're moving in the right direction in an attempt to sign Bojan Krkic,” Galliani stated. “Things should be finalised today.”
The Spaniard joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2011 from Barcelona on a two-year deal, but one which gave the Nou Camp giants the right to buy him back in 2013.
The 21-year-old did have his problems at the Stadio Olimpico last term under then boss Luis Enrique.
Nevertheless, the forward still scored seven goals in 33 games for the Giallorossi, but it seems that new boss Zdenek Zeman has doubts about his use in his 4-3-3 plans.
Milan are keen to take the player on a temporary basis and have allegedly already made contact with Barcelona for their go-ahead.
Bojan is also liked by Genoa, Hamburg, Atletico Madrid and Malaga.

Milan have confirmed that they have ended their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Ricky Kaka. “It’s too much of a risk.”
The Diavolo have been in talks for their former Golden Ball winner with the intention of taking him back on loan for the 2012-13 campaign.
However, after holding talks with the Madrid outfit and the Brazilian’s entourage, the San Siro giants have had to admit defeat.
“There are tax issues for Kaka,” Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani noted. “The negotiations have come to an end. It’s too risky.”
Galliani made the statement after wrapping up a deal with Caen for teenage striker M'Baye Niang.
“I don’t know if our market will end with him,” the official added. “He’s here for now, then we will have to wait and see.
“He can play as a first or a second striker. He’s only 17, but he’ll be in the first team squad under Massimiliano Allegri.
“We think he’s a good player – even if I usually give new players six months before making a final assessment of them.”

Tax complications may have scuppered Kaka's move from Real Madrid back to Milan.
Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani was expected in Madrid on Wednesday to take in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup at the Bernabeu, and begin talks with Real President Florentino Perez regarding a loan move for the Brazilian, who was a hero during his six year spell at San Siro but is a fringe player for Jose Mourinhos' Merengues.
However Gazzetta dello Sport report that Galliani took some financial advice on the deal this morning, and the feedback he received was so negative he may not fly out to the Spanish capital after all.
Gazzetta describe the advice as 'a cold shower' for Galliani, who is keen to pull off the transfer in order to assuage the club's critics and win back the fans after a disappointing summer for the Diavolo and a 1-0 opening day defeat to Sampdoria in Serie A yesterday.
Transfer market consultant Ernesto Bronzetti is said to be holding preliminary talks with Perez this evening.
Gallliani has often made unfavourable comparisons between the tax regulations for Italian clubs and those imposed on Spanish clubs in the past.

AC Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is reportedly on his way to France to wrap up a deal with Caen for M'Baye Niang.
The 17-year-old was being linked with clubs in England, but it looks like the Diavolo will tie up his signing for around €2.5m.
Galliani is heading to France with the club’s lawyer and agent Oscar Damiani.
Niang is a France Under-21 international striker who broke into Caen’s first team at the age of just 16.

Antonio Nocerino has reminded Milan’s doubters that the season hasn’t ended with a Week 1 defeat to Sampdoria.
After a summer of high profile departures, the Diavolo are being criticised for losing their opening game of the League campaign against Doria at San Siro.
“We’re disappointed to have lost, but there’s no need to start crying,” the midfielder noted. “It’s the first day of the season…

Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has called for patience after admitting that an era had come to an end at San Siro.

Riccardo Montolivo has admitted he was shocked that his Milan debut ended in a 1-0 home loss to Sampdoria.
“I would have expected a different result for the first game of the season,” stated the Bosman free signing from Fiorentina.
“We’re disappointed because we created a lot in the second half, but we were missing that little bit of luck.”

Massimiliano Allegri insists “Milan were unlucky” in their surprise 1-0 home defeat to Sampdoria.
“The first half was played with a little fear against a side that defended very well. After the break we started fairly well and then went behind to the only corner they had,” said the Coach.
“We hit the woodwork, forced goalline clearances and saves. I cannot ask for anything more from my players at the moment.
“There’s no point acting like victims now and we must instead restart from the good things seen. The performance showed there are quality players in this side, but there are always going to be difficulties at the start and we need calm to grow slowly.”

Adriano Galliani replied to Antonio Cassano’s personal attacks and confirmed Kaka will only arrive “if Real Madrid change their minds” on a loan switch.
The Milan Vice-President was bitterly criticised in new Inter buy Cassano’s Press conference yesterday, suggesting he was “all mouth and no trousers” by failing to maintain promises.
“It is the first, and I hope also the last, time that a player has said these things about me,” replied Galliani ahead of today’s Serie A match with Sampdoria.
“I will only say that if I ever made a promise, then I have kept it. I never promised to extend contracts. Why would we renew a deal in 2011 that wasn’t set to expire until 2014?”
Galliani was also asked about the Kaka saga, as the 30-year-old Brazilian was again dropped from Real Madrid’s squad amid reports of a row with Jose Mourinho.

The Rossoneri confirmed this week that Vice-President Adriano Galliani will be jetting out to Madrid on Monday to discuss Kaka’s future.
They hope to take the Brazilian on loan with mandatory option to buy at the end of the season, therefore spreading the cost to the next financial year while still giving Real guarantees.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia there is a new alternative emerging within Serie A.
Bojan has emerged as an intriguing option, as he is still owned by Barcelona as part of a strange two-year development deal with Roma.
Genoa President Enrico Preziosi told journalists that Bojan had been offered to him because the Giallorossi “wanted to release” the Spanish striker.
Milan would give him the opportunity to play in the Champions League and Serie A, while helping the team during yet another of Alexandre Pato’s thigh injuries.
Bojan moved to Roma in July 2011 for a fee of €12m, but Barcelona have the buyback clause to sign him back in 2013.
If the Giallorossi want to keep Bojan after that date, they must pay €28m.

Sampdoria caused a huge upset with a 1-0 victory at San Siro to silence Milan, as Kevin-Prince Boateng hit the woodwork in stoppages.
The Genoa side had lost its last three visits 3-0, but this proved to be their first win here since a 2-1 in March 2008 and inevitably the home stars were jeered off the field.
The Rossoneri have been revolutionised this summer with the departure of top stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Antonio Cassano, Alessandro Nesta and Clarence Seedorf. Alexandre Pato, Ignazio Abate and Massimo Ambrosini were injured for this match, but new arrival Pazzini started from the bench.
Maxi Lopez returned to face his former club, but a back problem meant he wasn’t fit to start in Ciro Ferrara’s 4-3-3 line-up. Samp were back in Serie A after a year in the wilderness, albeit starting from -1 due to the betting scandal, but missing the suspended Nicola Pozzi and goalkeeper Da Costa. Milan fans sent a message to Cassano with a large banner in the stands that read: ‘Ingrate.’
There was an early scare after 10 minutes when Eder robbed Daniele Bonera down the left, but the defender got back just in time to block the shot.
A weak Robinho effort was easily smothered and penalty appeals were waved away, as the ball bounced on to Daniele Gastaldello’s arm. Robinho’s free kick was deflected wide and Mario Yepes nodded over the bar.
Before the break Christian Abbiati was tested by a deflected Andrea Costa effort and Eder snapshot.
After the restart a Robinho cross-shot landed on the roof of the net and he went for goal moments later, the curler well plucked out of the air by Argentina’s international goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
Pazzini was given his Milan debut after 56 minutes, replacing El Shaarawy to face one of his former clubs.
However, it was Sampdoria who opened the scoring moments later. A corner was whipped in for defender Costa’s towering header from six yards that left Abbiati rooted to the spot.
Milan were convinced they had equalised on 64 minutes with a similar move, as the corner found Yepes for a bullet header, but this time Romero incredibly managed to parry from point-blank range on to the inside of the post and keep his wits about him to grab the ricochet. It was a remarkable save from Argentina’s Number 1.
Mathieu Flamini flicked another corner off target and a scuffle broke out when Luca Antonini accused Eder of time-wasting by delaying his substitution.
Boateng hit a powerful but very central effort at Romero, while Kevin Constant’s angled drive was again straight at the goalkeeper from six yards.
In the final minute Milan had a great chance to snatch a point with Boateng’s shot deflected on the edge of the box to loop over Romero, but Samp were saved by the woodwork! The Ghanaian international again threatened in stoppages, but his header was well held, while Flamini's shot was cleared off the line by Gastaldello with the last kick of the game.

Maxi Lopez returns to San Siro to face former Milan teammates, as the Sampdoria signing admits “I had wanted to stay.”
The Argentine spent the last six months on loan with the Rossoneri, but they did not take up their option to make the move permanent.
He instead returned to Catania, who loaned him out again to newly-promoted Sampdoria.
“I had wanted to stay at Milan because I settled in straight away and made friends with all the lads,” he told Mediaset Premium.

Massimiliano Allegri bitterly criticised Antonio Cassano, ruled out reports he wanted to resign and prepares for Milan’s Serie A opener against Sampdoria.
Cassano raised eyebrows today with a Press conference attacking Vice-President Adriano Galliani and the club for weakening the team and not considering him first choice, which he saw as just reason to request the transfer to Inter.
“He was an important player in his first six months here and contributed to the Scudetto victory. He started really well last season and was stopped by this heart problem, but I think Milan really helped him be passed fit to continue his career.
“We helped him to reach the Euros, because without Milan he would never have played for the Nazionale in 2012. Then he put in a transfer request and the club accepted it,” noted the Coach.
“Cassano played pretty often with me, as did all the players, though I can’t just let anyone take part in 60 games per season. The facts show when he was fit, I always let Cassano play. If he wanted to feel first choice in every match, then you’d have to ask him that.
“I guess Cassano is happy to join Inter and we are happy to have Giampaolo Pazzini. Divorces exist in life. Was he ungrateful? Antonio knows full well what Milan did for him and vice-versa. It’s too easy to talk when you’ve left a club. You need to show a basic level of respect.”
Allegri had also reportedly engaged in a bitter row with Galliani, threatening to resign this week if they signed Genoa striker Ze Eduardo.
“I never thought about resigning and wanted to immediately wipe out this rumour that has been circulating recently. I have an excellent rapport with Galliani. There were exchanges of opinion, but all together we are working to build a Milan side that can compete in Italy and Europe.”
The Rossoneri have considerably weakened with many top stars either sold or ending their contracts, so Allegri has suggested the target is a top three finish.
“I don’t know how far this Milan can go, but we have faith and want to prove ourselves, whether it is in first or fifth place. Football is wonderful because it can upset the odds. We want to turn around all the negative things that were said about us this summer.
“The club made certain choices with regards to Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic, so we have built a team with different characteristics.
“It will be important tomorrow against Sampdoria, as they are organised, have quality and did very well to beat Barcelona in the Gamper Trophy last week. We must begin again from the last two pre-season games when we kept clean sheets.”
Alexandre Pato could be out of action for three weeks after picking up yet another thigh strain.

Antonio Cassano launched an attack on Milan and Adriano Galliani after his transfer to Inter. “This time I’m not the one who got it wrong. I wasn't ungrateful.”
The fiery striker has moved around Roma, Real Madrid and Sampdoria with controversial spells and temper tantrums, but surprised many with his switch across San Siro this week.
“The important thing for me was for everyone to agree with the move. I want to thank the President, but also Marco Branca and Piero Ausilio,” said Cassano in today’s Press conference. “I publicly thank them because they had faith in Antonio the man.
“Massimo Moratti told me many things, but I won’t reveal them. He wanted me here back from the days of Roberto Mancini. However, as I was completely crazy at the time, it was right not to sign me.
“There was steam coming out of my ears, but now I am relaxed and calm, so it’s a good decision to bring me to Inter. I am happy to be here.”
Cassano has so far refused to reveal why he put in a transfer request at Milan, but hinted it was Vice-President Galliani.
“When I joined Milan I said that if I got it wrong there then I ought to be locked up. Well, this time I’m not the one who got it wrong. I had to leave. There was someone above the Coach who did something wrong and I can’t stand it when people take me for a ride.
“When I was ill, my teammates were very close to me, but this person promised so much. He was all mouth and no trousers.
“This time I want to deal with men who let me know when things are right or wrong. I want to be told face to face what the real situation is. Elsewhere they say some things and do others instead.

FantAntonio had expressed his dismay over the summer at the idea Thiago Silva could be sold, so was distraught when both the defender and Zlatan Ibrahimovic moved to PSG simultaneously. He also expected a new contract that never materialised.
“I counted for very little at Milan. I thank the people there who helped me out and even saved my life, while Mauro Tassotti was very close to me. You cannot say I was ungrateful. It was important for me to come to Inter because they are a team who want to win.
“I had a good offer from Qatar, which I would like, but I’d love to be at the World Cup with Italy and that means playing in a 'real' League. I’ve always supported Inter and everyone wanted me here, while I really wanted to work with Yuto Nagatomo. Will I debut tomorrow against Pescara? The Coach will see.”

Thiago Silva admits he was truly torn when leaving Milan for PSG and is “stunned” by Antonio Cassano’s move to rivals Inter.
The defender was one of the transfer sagas of the summer, as at first his €42m move was rejected by the Rossoneri, but then accepted in a double deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic two weeks later.

Highly promising Caen striker M'Baye Niang is close to completing a loan move to Milan, after the French outfit reportedly accepted an offer this morning.
Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani proposed the loan move to Caen last week and has been waiting for a response ever since.
According to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, an official message arrived just after midday today accepting the offer.
After breaking into the Caen first team at the age of 16, Niang went on to score vital goals to save his side from relegation in his first season.

There are reports Milan are set to sign Denilson from Arsenal, which would mean him scrapping a loan to Sao Paolo.
The defensive midfielder was a youth team player at Sao Paolo and returned there on loan last season, a deal which was recently renewed.
However, Sky Sports claim Arsenal have a clause in his contract allowing them to cancel the loan if a suitable offer arrives to sell Denilson permanently.

Giampaolo Pazzini has been described as the player Milan needed by new teammate Mario Yepes.
The Italian arrived at Milanello this week after the club agreed to give Inter €7m and the services of Antonio Cassano in exchange for the striker.
“Pazzini is the target man we have been missing,” the Colombian told Milan Channel. “He wants to win something in Italy.”

The Rossoneri had agreed a deal with the Stadio Ferraris outfit for the Brazilian, but without the consent of Allegri.

Inter have released a brief note on their website which states that they have signed Cassano outright from city cousins Milan.
The Italian international, 30, has put pen to paper on a contract until June 2014.

The player had risked his life when he suffered an ischemic stroke on October 29, 2011, then underwent surgery to correct a congenital heart defect that had caused it.

Inter and Milan's mooted exchange of the 'goal twins', who formed such an effective partnership at Sampdoria before heading for opposite sides of the Milan divide a year and a half ago, is dominating the news agenda in Italy and today has been the most frenzied day of activity yet.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport a conversation between Milan President Silvio Berlusconi and Vice President Galliani during Sunday night's Trofeo Berlusconi was the spur that set the wheels in motion.
Negotiations between the Diavolo and Pazzo's agent Tulio Tinti reportedly took place this morning, and though Tinti later denied it, an agreement on wages is thought to have been found.
Earlier this evening, the Press waiting outside Inter headquarters on Corso Vittorio Emanuele spotted Galliani's car pulling in - only he wasn't in it.
Ten minutes after the Milan chief mislead the media, Massimo Moratti exited the Saras offices alone. The Inter President is believed then to have met old adversary Galliani in a top secret location.
What Galliani is reported to have offered Moratti is Cassano plus €7 million - paid over three years - for the services of Pazzini.
This could be the next chapter in a long history of players moving directly between the Milan giants, including Clarence Seedorf, Andrea Pirlo and Giuseppe Meazza.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has confirmed “there are negotiations in place” with Inter for Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini.
“There are two weeks left in the market, we’ll see what happens,” said the transfer guru after tonight’s 3-2 Trofeo Berlusconi defeat to Juventus.
Cassano had been expected to play, but was not even at San Siro for the match, instead reportedly at his home in Genoa as talks gain momentum for his exchange with Inter striker Pazzini.
“We’ll talk with the President and the Coach, consider things and then make a decision,” continued Galliani.

Despite a Robinho brace, Juventus beat Milan 3-2 at San Siro to lift the Trofeo Berlusconi with Alessandro Matri.
The Rossoneri lost Stephan El Shaarawy to kidney stones, Massimo Ambrosini and Philippe Mexes to injury, but most importantly Antonio Cassano. FantAntonio was not even in the stadium for this traditional pre-season friendly, fuelling rumours he’s in talks for a move to Inter.
Cristian Zapata made his debut, but fans unfurled banners that read: ‘We don’t want Borriello’ and ‘President we need a champion.’
The Bianconeri had to do without Andrea Pirlo, Gigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini and Martin Caceres for this match with over 30,000 fans present. Luca Marrone was again tested in central defence.
This was the 22nd edition of the Trofeo Berlusconi, but since it was between these two teams they had nine wins each. It was also Milan’s debut on the new hybrid artificial pitch at San Siro – a semi-synthetic base with real grass.
Urby Emanuelson nodded just wide in the opening minutes and a strong passing move led to the goal. Robinho burst forward through the middle and spread the play for Mathieu Flamini, whose shot from the by-line hit the upright and ricocheted into the path of the Brazilian to tap in from a yard.
The equaliser came only four minutes later, as Paolo De Ceglie got down the left and his low cross was prodded in by Claudio Marchisio at full stretch.
Emanuelson’s free kick skimmed the upright, but Mirko Vucinic unleashed a rocket that rattled the crossbar with Christian Abbiati beaten.
Juventus turned the game around completely just before the break, as Arturo Vidal sprung the offside trap thanks to a Luca Antonini error on Marrone’s long ball and kept his cool to avoid a last-gasp tackle with a dummy, depositing it past Abbiati.
Alexandre Pato made his first appearance at San Siro for six months after a series of muscular injuries, as both sides made numerous changes for the second half. Ignazio Abate limped off with a suspected sprained ankle.
Matri, who is celebrating his 28th birthday, saw a scuffed strike flapped off the line by Abbiati. At the other end Marco Storari used his feet to parry a deflected corner, while Paul Pogba was very impressive in midfield.
Abbiati rushed off his line to parry, but from the resulting corner Matri was allowed a free header from the chipped Emanuele Giaccherini cross. Matri has been heavily linked with a move to the Rossoneri – his former club – and did not celebrate.
Teenager Alberto Masi ran into the back of Robinho for a penalty, which the Brazilian got back up to powerfully convert into the top corner.
Abbiati used his foot to beat away a Matri shot at the near post, but Stephan Lichtsteiner also went off with a fitness problem. A long-range Michele Pazienza attempt was fingertipped over the bar, but Juventus secured the Trofeo Berlusconi 3-2.

Cassano - Pazzini swap intensifies

There are growing reports that Inter and Milan have started serious negotiations for an Antonio Cassano exchange with Giampaolo Pazzini.
The rumour had emerged over the last few days, as Pazzini is on the market and Cassano is said to be very frustrated at the transfer strategy that has seen Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva sold.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, this is turning into more than a mere summer fantasy football theory and a meeting is set for Monday.
Tomorrow the agents of the two players, Tullio Tinti and Beppe Bozzo, are due to come together along with representatives of the clubs.
This story is cranking up the tension at San Siro, where this evening Milan play Juventus in the Trofeo Berlusconi.
It would not be a straight swap, as Pazzini is worth considerably more on the market than Cassano, so Milan would have to include €10m cash as well.
The other alternative is for Inter to remove Pazzini from the equation and go for a pure cash sum to get Cassano in a Nerazzurri jersey.
This would allow them to continue talks with Napoli and Juventus for Pazzini.

Juventus have left behind Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon for tomorrow night’s Trofeo Berlusconi match with Milan.
The game is a traditional pre-season fixture between these two clubs at San Siro.
Pirlo was carrying a knock from the Italian Super Cup victory over Napoli last week and has not been risked for this test.

Robinho has changed his shirt number with Milan for the new season, inheriting Alexandre Pato’s No 7.
The former Manchester City and Real Madrid striker had worn 70 so far in his Rossoneri career.
A statement on the club website confirmed Robinho has now taken the No 7 previously worn by Pato.
This is because Pato will be wearing the iconic No 9 following Pippo Inzaghi’s retirement.
Robinho will get his first outing in the 7 jersey on Sunday evening when Milan face Juventus in the Trofeo Berlusconi.

Massimiliano Allegri prepares Milan for tomorrow’s clash with Juventus and won’t rule out Antonio Cassano’s departure. “We’ll see what happens.”
The Rossoneri take to the field at San Siro in Sunday evening’s traditional Trofeo Berlusconi encounter, but the newspaper talk is all about their unimpressive transfer strategy.
“As President Silvio Berlusconi said, in a moment of economic difficulty for the country we made the right choice,” noted the Coach in his Press conference.
“We adapted to the situation with some targeted sales of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva. We have to adapt, without losing sight of the objectives for a good side like Milan – fighting for the top three in Serie A.
“Juventus are certainly favourites for the Scudetto and a step above Inter, Roma, Napoli and Milan. Don’t forget we also have to stay within the budget for the Financial Fair Play rules, but despite all that I am satisfied with the squad.
“Ours is a project for the future, even if we hope to get results straight away. We are capable of having a good season.”
The high-profile exits have left Cassano extremely unhappy and today there were reports he could join Inter in exchange for Giampaolo Pazzini.
“Antonio is a Milan player and can do well here,” said Allegri. “There are 15 days left to the transfer deadline and we’ll see what happens. He is our player, so has to be a professional and work to give his best.
“I wanted to speak to Cassano to understand the situation, confirming to him that he is an important player who is technically gifted. I wanted him to give me the all-clear that he’s staying here voluntarily and is convinced of our project.
“We did great things for him – we helped him heal from his heart surgery, got him back to fitness and ready to play at Euro 2012. We showed all our interest in keeping him here with us.”
Among the candidates for the role of striker are Kaka, Alessandro Matri and Roma’s Marco Borriello.
“This squad is good and that is what we must work on. If then by August 31 we can bring in a striker, a midfielder and a left-back... We’ve got these players right now and I am happy, as we have the strength to challenge the biggest teams while aware of our limitations.
“Juve won’t give Matri away, as he was one of the prime figures behind the Scudetto. Borriello has already been here, then two years ago was sold to make room for Ibrahimovic, so it’s a situation that needs to be evaluated. Pazzini is a good player, but he belongs to Inter. They will decide where to send him.”

The two clubs come face to face tomorrow evening at San Siro in the traditional pre-season friendly, which will be played on the new hybrid artificial turf.
Pirlo is at risk of missing the encounter with his former teammates, as he picked up a knock during the Italian Super Cup against Napoli last week.

Adrian Mutu is said to be the latest transfer target to reinforce Milan’s attack.
The former Chelsea, Parma, Juventus and Fiorentina man is looking for a move after Cesena slipped down into Serie B.
He had been very close to a return to Romania, then was in advanced negotiations with French side Ajaccio.
However, today the Corriere dello Sport claims that Milan have prepared a bid for Mutu to join them at San Siro.

There are reports of a shocking exchange in the works at Milan – could Antonio Cassano join Inter in exchange for Giampaolo Pazzini?
The pair used to play together at Sampdoria and moved to opposite sides of San Siro in January 2011.
Pazzini is an outcast at Inter and has not been included in their Europa League squad, as he is not part of Coach Andrea Stramaccioni’s plans.
On the other hand, Cassano is increasingly frustrated at the lack of ambition shown by Milan after the sales of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
According to this morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two situations could come to a head with a sensational swap deal.
Cassano has never disguised the fact he supported Inter as a child and had been close to joining Massimo Moratti’s club before.
It’s claimed in the Corriere dello Sport that FantAntonio will be dropped from the starting XI in tomorrow night’s Trofeo Berlusconi against Juventus, left out in favour of Kevin-Prince Boateng, Robinho and Alexandre Pato.
Curiously, if this deal does not materialise then both Inter and Milan are looking at the same target – Roma flop Marco Borriello.
Nocerino backs 'quality' Pato

Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino has given his backing to Alexandre Pato to prove his ability in the coming season.
Pato has been earmarked to lead the Rossoneri’s attack after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
‘The Duck’ has also been awarded the No 9 shirt, previously worn by the legendary Pippo Inzaghi, so the upcoming season will be a test of character for the young Brazilian.

Nicklas Bendtner confirmed he is in “serious negotiations” to quit Arsenal, as Milan and Inter are in the running for the Dane.
The 24-year-old striker has long been linked with a switch to the Rossoneri and admitted his time with the Gunners is at an end.
“It is not an option to stay at Arsenal, that is something neither I nor Arsenal desire,” Bendtner told the Danish media.
“I am expecting that the club issue will be resolved before the transfer window is closed. There are serious negotiations going on.

Just hours after he was linked with Inter, Marco Borriello is now reportedly on the verge of a return to Milan.
The Roma striker is not part of Zdenek Zeman’s plans and Juventus did not take up their option after a six-month loan spell.
Earlier today it was rumoured that Inter had shown an interest in the former Italian international, but Sky Sport Italia now claim his destination is the red and black side of San Siro.
It’s suggested that Milan will take Borriello on loan, though there are some problems still to be worked out.
Sky Sport Italia believe Roma would have to pay a percentage of his wages during the loan period and he still has some issues with a few members of the squad.
Borriello first joined Milan in 2003-04, going out on loan to Reggina, Sampdoria, Treviso and Genoa before returning from 2008 to 2010.
The centre-forward went to Roma in August 2010 with a year’s loan and compulsory €10m buy-out clause.

Pippo Inzaghi started his management career at Milan’s youth academy today and reveals Carlo Ancelotti’s advice. “Call me Mister...”
The striker retired over the summer and was given a job as Coach of the Allievi section of the Rossoneri academy.
“I prefer to be called ‘Mister’ and not Pippo anymore, because now everyone calls me that,” he said referring to the Italian version of ‘Coach.’
“This morning I was very nervous and excited. In all honesty, I didn’t expect so many fans to be there for such a warm welcome.
“Among the Coaches I worked with the ones who taught me the most were Gigi Cagni and Bortolo Mutti. Ancelotti also taught me a great deal and this morning he called me at 8.30am to remind me there was a training session!”
As one of the top European hitmen of his era, Inzaghi aims to continue that approach into his management career.
“I will play with four defenders, which is the Milan dogma, and three forwards, so on paper it is a very attacking line-up.
“I saw two or three very interesting strikers in the squad, but it’s difficult to spot someone with my characteristics.

Milan target Ricky Kaka could end up replacing another former Rossoneri man, David Beckham, at LA Galaxy.
The Brazilian has made it clear he’d like a return to San Siro this summer just three years after completing his switch to Real Madrid.
However, the clubs cannot agree on a price-tag and so it’s now reported by Spanish newspaper AS that America beckons.
LA Galaxy have also been linked with the 30-year-old and today AS are suggesting that this interest is as they plan for a successor to Beckham.
At 37, there is speculation that the Americans will be happy to release the Englishman at the end of his contract and it is understood that LA would like Kaka to take his place as a ‘star player’.
Kaka was reportedly well-received by fans in the States during Real Madrid’s pre-season tour.
MLS side Galaxy are prepared to offer the Brazilian €27m for a three-year contract, matching his current Real Madrid wage, and are understood to even be prepared to wait until 2013 to sign the player, if they cannot convince Los Blancos of a deal this summer.
Galatasaray are also said to be considering a loan bid for Kaka this summer, but that they would require 50 per cent of his wages to be financed by Real – something the Spaniards made clear to Milan that they’re not intent on doing.

Milan youngster Mattia De Sciglio is keen to make another Italy squad soon, despite not featuring against England last night.
The 19-year-old defender, who has made just five appearances for Milan, received his first international call-up for the friendly in Bern last night, and although he remained on the bench for the Azzurri's 2-1 defeat, the experience has certainly whetted his appetite.
“It was a great emotion,” De Sciglio enthused in an interview with Milan channel. “Prandelli wanted great desire, even though it was just a friendly. Us young players had the opportunity to put ourselves on display, now I am going to try and make sure that this is not my only call.”
The fullback then commented on this weekend's Trofeo Berlusconi, in which Milan will face Juventus at San Siro. “For us the Trofeo Berlusconi is not a friendly. It's an important game against an opponent who want to do well after their Super Cup victory.”
The match will kick off at 7.45 GMT on Sunday evening.
AC Milan target Lodi 'in Catania's hands'

Francesco Lodi has effectively killed off the idea of a Milan switch by insisting Catania will decide his future.
The deep lying playmaker is reportedly of interest to the Rossoneri as they attempt to remodel their midfield following the departures of Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf and Mark Van Bommel. And although he has admitted the rumours make him proud, Neapolitan Lodi has stressed that he remains loyal to Catania, the club he owes a debt of gratitude to for signing him from lower league Frosinone and giving him a chance in Serie A.
“It's an honour to be paired with Milan,” the 28-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. “It stimulates me to do even better. But the President does what he believes is right and my future is in the hands of Catania.”

Merkel respects 'great' AC Milan

Milan are still a side to be respected despite their summer revolution, says former Rossonero Alexander Merkel.
The Diavolo have gone through some mass changes after a host of veteran players left at the end of their contracts, while they then decided to sell Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain.
“The side has been weakened when you consider that they have lost two fundamental elements in Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” the German told Sky Sport Italia.

Antonio Nocerino felt like an “old man” in the new-look Italy side that fell to England. “We have a great future ahead of us, but also a great present.”
The Milan midfielder was one of the few veterans in the line-up that lost 2-1 in Berne last night.
“I liked the way Italy played, as we moved the ball around well with character and created many chances,” he stated.
“In the last 15 minutes we lost sharpness, probably because they are at a more advanced stage of pre-season preparations.
“I saw many strong young players and I’m very happy. We have a great future ahead of us, but also a great present.
“There are players who are not afraid and play the ball. The youth academies should be given credit for helping to develop these lads.”
Stephan El Shaarawy did not impress on his senior Italy debut, though that wasn’t entirely surprising to his Milan teammate.
“I always criticise El Shaarawy, as I know he has immense potential. He did well tonight and showed character, but I’ll give him a few ‘slaps’ anyway!
“It is the right decision to give an opportunity to the younger players, as it’s the only way to understand how ready they are.”
Nocerino also commented on the transformation of Milan’s squad with the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain.
“Some great players have left, but that happened in the past with the likes of Andriy Shevchenko and Kaka. We won after that and will do again.
“Milan is Milan and remains a great club regardless of who plays. Besides, don’t forget last year they paid €3 and a fizzy drink for me, but I scored 11 goals!”

Alexandre Pato scored twice in Brazil’s 3-0 demolition of Sweden, while Holland flopped again and Fabio Capello and Didier Deschamps made their debuts, according to bookmakers.
The Milan striker won the silver medal with his country at the London 2012 Olympics and was back on the pitch again last night for this prestigious friendly.
The Seleçao were dominant and opened the scoring in the first half with Leandro Damiao nodding in a Neymar assist.
Pato came off the bench to put his mark on the match, netting twice in the space of 120 seconds.
Sweden were without Pato’s former Milan teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to injury.
This was a special game in Stockholm, played in the same stadium where 54 years previously Brazil had beaten the Scandinavians 5-2 to lift the 1958 World Cup. Pele was in the stands to commemorate the occasion.
Elsewhere, Capello made his debut as manager of Russia with a 1-1 draw against the Ivory Coast. Don Fabio’s men had taken the lead through Alan Dzagoev, but were pegged back by Max Gradel 12 minutes from time.
Holland also welcomed a new Coach, Louis Van Gaal, but this ended in disappointment with a 4-2 defeat to Belgium.
Fresh from a disastrous first round exit at Euro 2012, the Oranje continued to look shaky even with captain Wesley Sneijder. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar even had the Dutch 2-1 up at one stage, but the Belgians scored three times between the 75th and 80th minute.
Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic was on target in Montenegro’s 2-0 victory over Lithuania.
Argentina earned a spectacular 3-1 win in Germany, though goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler was sent off after half an hour. Leo Messi surprisingly missed the resulting penalty, but Sami Khedira’s own goal, a Messi effort and Angel Di Maria’s screamer made the result inevitable. Howedes nodded in his debut goal for Germany in the final minutes.
Ex-Juventus Coach Deschamps made his first appearance on the bench of France, earning a 0-0 draw against Uruguay.
However, there was bad news for Napoli, as Walter Gargano went off with an injury after 64 minutes.
El Shaarawy targets World Cup 2014

Stephan El Shaarawy has his eyes on a place at the 2014 World Cup after the Milan man was named in the latest Italy squad.
The Under-21 international has been promoted to the full set-up and he’s set to win his debut alongside Mattia Destro in tonight’s international friendly against England.
“Stephan had two dreams as a kid,” agent Roberto La Florio told Radio Sportiva. “He wanted to wear the Milan shirt and that of the Italian national side. Now he’ll realise both of those.
“El Shaarawy is good friends with Destro and they have known each other for some time. Italy boss Cesare Prandelli really wants to make use of this tie so he can look at the youngsters.
“I think that those players who deserve a place in the squad will find themselves at the World Cup in Brazil.
“Usually what happens when El Shaarawy sets himself a target is that he then achieves it.”
El Shaarawy, born to an Italian mother and an Egyptian father, joined Milan last summer from Genoa and responded with four goals in 28 games.
“He did well last term for Milan and this season will be his year,” the representative added. “Let’s hope that he is a bit luckier in front of goal.”
El Shaarawy, who will be 20 in October, has played for the Italian national side from Under-16 to Under-21 level.

As well as discussing the return of Real Madrid’s Kaka, the two men will also decide on which new centre-forward to target after the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain.
Matri, who started his career with the Diavolo, has been linked even if the Old Lady’s asking price is thought to be in the region of €15m.
The other option is that they re-sign Borriello, a player who Roma are apparently ready to loan him for free – although his €4m wages could be a problem.

Antonio Cassano will have showdown talks with Milan before the end of the week that may result in his San Siro exit.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Italian is concerned that he is not at the centre of the tactical project being employed by boss Massimiliano Allegri.
Although the club are shy of the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic following his sale to Paris Saint-Germain, Allegri has high hopes for the development of Stephen El Shaarawy and the return of Alexandre Pato.
Cassano will reportedly ask for some assurances ahead of the 2012-13 campaign. Should he not be satisfied with the Diavolo’s answers then he may ask for a transfer.
Cassano has spoken of his desire to re-join Sampdoria even if the newly promoted outfit have made it clear that his name is not on their transfer wish-list.
Matuzalem to swap Lazio for AC Milan?

Francelino Matuzalem is close to following Javier Garrido out the door at Lazio and Milan could be an option for the 32-year-old.
According to Sky Sport Italia, his advisors have had a conversation with Lazio officials and a meeting has been scheduled for 20 August to decide his future.
His agents are analysing offers from Qatar and Dubai, but it’s understood Matuzalem would prefer to stay in Italy.
As a result, his agents are working on a switch to Milan who expressed interest in the former Shakthar player. Genoa are also in the running.
Lazio finished fourth last season and before their campaign begins they will play in the qualifying round of the Europa League next week against ND Mura 05 of Slovenia.

With the new season approaching Mario Yepes is under no illusions as to the task ahead for 2011 champions Milan.
The Colombian defender, who struggled with injury last term, is expected to have a greater role in Massimiliano Allegri’s side, but with less than two weeks until the first game against Sampdoria, Yepes knows the Rossoneri are one of a number of teams chasing Juventus.
“For me Juve are one step in front of the others, from what they did last year and the new players brought in since,” he told Gazzetta.tv.
“Then comes a group of good teams, but it’s still too early to say who will compete with the Bianconeri.”
Yepes made just 11 appearances in the 2011-12 campaign and 24 in total since joining from Chievo in 2010, but after a number of departures in the centre of defence, including lynchpin Thiago Silva and veteran Alessandro Nesta, the 36-year-old needs to step up.
The international also hopes moves can be made in the transfer market to help Milan claim its 19th Scudetto.
“At Milan there are many important players, also in terms of character, now we’ll see who comes by 31 August,” he added.
“We must think only to work and be ready for the debut in the League. We have worked well, winning three games out of four, it was a shame to lose to Real Madrid but right now they are stronger than us.
“The important thing is the defeat doesn’t change our attitude. It’s important we find the right harmony.
“We still have a team of experienced people that will help us make a good group for a good campaign.”

FIFA agent Ernesto Bronzetti believes Milan’s chances of signing Kaka are “0.001%” and warns Juventus against buying Fernando Llorente.
The representative is often a go-between for Italian and Spanish clubs on the transfer market, particularly Real Madrid, so told Sky Sport Italia his view on the latest rumours.
“Llorente would do very well in Italy, but Spanish players have always failed in Serie A because of their mentality. I don’t understand why, but they just don’t work.
“You saw at Roma that Bojan Krkic and Jose Angel didn’t impress, while going further back Gaizka Mendieta was a flop at Lazio.
“I hope that if Juventus do get Llorente then he can do well, but if I was the President of an Italian club then I’d never sign a Spaniard. That’s not easy for me to say.
“It won’t be simple to negotiate with Athletic Bilbao, as their President is tough. Other Spanish clubs aren’t behind Llorente’s decision not to sign a new contract, as they’ve got even less money than the Italians at the moment.”
Nonetheless, Milan’s talks with Real Madrid for Kaka look doomed to failure.
“Adriano Galliani was right in saying he didn’t want to give the fans false hope,” continued Bronzetti.
“In Italy it’s impossible to pay €10m net wages. When Real Madrid absolutely have to give him away, then they might have a chance, but unfortunately right now Kaka is a prisoner of his wages.
“As of today, his chances of joining Milan are 0.001%. I know he wants to return to Milan, but I’d like to go out with Monica Bellucci – that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. There was some contact with New York Red Bulls, but he wants to stay in Europe.”
Similarly, Bronzetti warns that talks for Real Madrid’s Lassana Diarra are also unlikely to go anywhere.
“He wants €6m net per season, which is impossible. I hope in a few years these wages disappear, because it’s impossible on the market like this.”
El Shaarawy 'excited' to face England

Stephan El Shaarawy will start against England tomorrow and is “hugely excited” at his senior Italy debut.
The ‘Little Pharaoh’ has been named in Cesare Prandelli’s starting XI for the international friendly in Berne, Switzerland.
“I am hugely excited at this call-up and it will be important for me to face a prestigious side like England,” he said in a Press conference.
“I am happy to have made it to the Azzurri and I’ll use it as motivation to prove all my worth.
“My dream is to play at the 2014 World Cup. For a start my first call has arrived and I hope there will be other chances in the future.”
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s sale to PSG, there should be more playing time for El Shaarawy at Milan this season.

AC Milan season tickets plummet

Milan’s season ticket sales have plummeted to an all-new low after the sales of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.
It has been a tense campaign and some even started a class action lawsuit against the club to have season tickets refunded after the two stars were sold to PSG.
The Rossoneri offered to refund the cost and so far only a handful of supporters have taken that step.
Nonetheless, the Diavolo have sold only 19,283 season tickets to date.
According to Tuttosport, this could well be a new record for the Silvio Berlusconi era.
Only twice before has that figure gone below 30,000 – the time when Kaka joined Real Madrid in 2009-10 for 27,865 tickets and a year later 28,754.
Cassano: 'I want 2014 World Cup'

Antonio Cassano has laughed off reports of international retirement. “I want to continue with the Nazionale at least until the 2014 World Cup.”
The Milan forward almost had to end his career last year when he suffered an ischemic stroke and required surgery to correct the congenital heart defect.
He returned to the field in April and was able to play a major part in taking Italy to the Euro 2012 Final.
Rumours emerged this week that the 30-year-old was ready to hang up his Azzurri boots after that tournament.
“I want to continue with the Nazionale at least until the 2014 World Cup,” replied Cassano on the official Milan website.
He is not part of the Italy squad to face England on Wednesday evening, as Coach Cesare Prandelli is trying out a host of new faces in Berne.

The Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Mattia Destro and Stephan El Shaarawy could be handed places in attack for Italy tomorrow.
The uncapped duo were named in Cesare Prandelli’s inexperienced squad at the end of last week and will reportedly line up alongside Alessandro Diamanti in a three-man attack. However, it is thought that there could be a third debutant in the forward-line, if the CT opts for Ezequiel Schelotto over Diamanti.

Milan director Ariedo Braida has denied reports from earlier today that the club were discussing sending Djamel Mesbah to Palermo.
The full-back joined the Rossoneri from Lecce in January of this year but has been linked with a departure this summer.
Torino are known admirers, but this morning saw Palermo emerge as potential rivals for his signature, in light of requiring a replacement for Federico Balzaretti, who they recently sold to Roma.
However, Braida has denied that any talks whatsoever have taken place for the Rossoneri’s left-sided defender.
“I cannot but deny the existence of possible interest from Palermo for Mesbah,” he told Palermo24.net.

Giuseppe Rossi would welcome AC Milan move

Giuseppe Rossi’s agent believes the striker would welcome a move to Milan, but also says that any number of clubs will be moving for him.
The forward is currently recovering from knee ligament damage and isn’t expected to return to the field until early 2013. However, in light of his club Villarreal’s relegation from the Primera Division last season, he is still considered available on the market.
This sits in contrast to the position taken in March of this year, when the player hit out as his agent for encouraging transfer speculation and declared that he would be staying with the Yellow Submarine.
Today, his agent believes that it won’t take long for the player to complete a move to a new club and that it is likely to be sorted in the coming fortnight.
“The change of direction was a natural reaction to Villarreal’s relegation,” Federico Pastorello explained to Sky Sport 24.
“The interest in Giuseppe is equal to that of the other players, even if there is the handicap of his injury that will keep him out of the rest of 2012.
“If he were fit, he would probably have already been sold. I’m not worried about this situation because I know that the market for Giuseppe will probably begin in the final stage of the summer.
“Rossi is currently engaged in rehabilitation, whilst there is always the support from the Roig family and we are relaxed because they have budgeted this year for Giuseppe’s contract.
“But, I’m also aware that if an intelligent offer arrives then Rossi’s desire will be taken into account.”
Pastorello was asked where Rossi would likely end up for 2012-13.
“Technically, any team in Italy could sign him. Milan for their squad, Inter for the rejuvenation and issue relating to Giampaolo Pazzini’s position and Juventus for their search for a top striker…
“The identikit of Giuseppe Rossi is suitable for all three of the big teams, not to mention Roma, Napolo and Lazio, but I think they are complete.
“Has there been contact with Milan? I do not know, but maybe with Milan having bought Cristian Zapata the might have been a discussion between the clubs.
“We can classify it as a hypothesis, whilst if Milan were interested then there would be no doubt that it would please Rossi. The availability to Milan of the boy would be total.
“I think there will be some movement for Rossi, and not only from Italian clubs, having also seen him play for Manchester United and explode at Villarreal. But, he would be perfectly happy to play in Serie A.
“I feel that his transfer could be sorted late in the summer market and then by the end of January he should be available and could make the second half of the season.”

Milan have made early moves for both Marco Borriello and Alessandro Matri in anticipation of missing out on Ricky Kaka.
The Rossoneri want to be reunited with Kaka and negotiations with Real Madrid have turned into a summer-long saga that show no signs of concluding.
As a result, Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has reportedly made tentative approaches for Borriello and Matri.
Kaka remains Milan’s preferred option but bringing him back to Italy depends on Real’s pursuit of Luka Modric – another deal that could take weeks to progress.
Galliani has repotedly struck a financial agreement with Kaka as the Brazilian is happy to reduce his wages to facilitate a return to Milan but Real won’t discuss a loan deal until Modric has been signed.
Borriello, who has also played for Milan in the past, has emerged as a viable alternative to Kaka.
The striker is transfer-listed at Roma after a disappointing spell on loan with Juventus last season, but Milan believe that they can get the best out of the 30-year-old that left them in 2010. A swap deal with Antonio Cassano has already apparently been rejected by Roma but they would be open to loaning Borriello out.
Matri is the second option if Milan cannot sign Kaka. However, Juve would be reluctant to let him join their rivals despite Matri’s difficulties in breaking into the Bianconeri team towards the end of last season.
Milan’s faint hopes of landing Matri depend on Juve bringing in another striker, whilst it is understood that initial talks with the Turin side have seen a disagreement over the structure of a deal, with the Rossoneri pushing for a loan only.

AC Milan swap Mexes for Bendtner?

Philippe Mexes could be heading to Arsenal in exchange for Nicklas Bendtner after France Coach Didier Deschamps said he might “leave Milan.”
The defender has dealt with injuries and poor form over the past year, while there doesn’t seem to be much trust in him after the Rossoneri lost Thiago Silva and Alessandro Nesta.
“I know Philippe well and he is part of the wider France squad,” said Deschamps.
“What is happening to him? I don’t know if he will leave Milan, as there is a particular situation going on with his club.”
Mexes flew out with the Milan side for the US tour on July 27 and returned on August 3 to be with his wife as she gave birth to their daughter. Ever since then, he has been training alone at Milanello.

Reports indicate that whilst Ricky Kaka has lowered his wage demands to facilitate a return to Milan, Real Madrid are not budging on their request.
Los Blancos President Florentino Perez is understood to have informed Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani last week that the Spaniards are not prepared to accept the Rossoneri’s offer of a free loan to back the player.

Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has admitted that his teammates are nervous going into the new season off the back of a heavy pre-season defeat to Real Madrid.

Galliani furious with Allegri

The Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting a furious outburst from Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani placing the blame for defeat to Real Madrid at Max Allegri’s door.
The Rossoneri were humbled 5-1 by Jose Mourinho’s team this week in a heavily one-sided affair. Allegri suggested post-match that concentration was the difference, but Galliani reportedly thinks otherwise.
“When you play against Real Madrid you should not think it is just a friendly,” he was reported as saying by the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Former Milan player and Coach Cesare Maldini has been left less than impressed by his old club’s move for Cristian Zapata.
The Colombian completed a quick loan move back to Italy yesterday by joining the Rossoneri from newly-relegated Villarreal in Spain.
As a non-EU national, the former Udinese player has taken up the squad’s final allocated spot, ruling out future moves this summer for other non-EU nationals such as Carlos Tevez, Leandro Damaio and Edin Dzeko.
Beyond this point though, Maldini, who made almost 350 appearances for the Diavolo before taking to the bench in two separate spells at San Siro, is struggling to understand the transfer’s merits.
“I did not expect the arrival of Zapata. We’ll evaluate how he is physically, but I certainly expected something better,” the 80-year-old declared this week.
“I remember in Udine he did very well, but at Villarreal he has not done very well and he has had an injury.
“But, clearly Milan will have followed the player and considered him fully recovered. I think he is still not exactly a central defender, but inevitably will have some kind of reception from fans after the departure of Thiago Silva.

Milan’s hopes of re-signing Ricky Kaka from Real Madrid this summer look to be slimming, as Adriano Galliani admits it is ‘almost impossible’.
The Rossoneri have expressed an interest in bringing the 30-year-old playmaker back to San Siro, after three years in Spain, and Vice-President Galliani held talks this week with Real President Florentino Perez.
However, reports have since suggested that the two clubs are after different things from the transfer, with Milan keen for an initial loan deal and Madrid only for a sale. Meanwhile, Kaka’s reputed €10m-a-year wage demands are also believed to have affected negotiations.
Asked of the transfer’s progress after watching Kaka inspire Real to a 5-1 win over Milan in a pre-season game last night, Galliani was less than enthusiastic.

The Rossoneri were hit for five by a Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricky Kaka-inspired Real in New York’s Yankee Stadium last night and Allegri suggested that it serve as a lesson to his players to maintain concentration or suffer the consequences.
“We close the US tour with a heavy defeat, but with the knowledge that we have worked well for the future,” reflected the tactician to reporters after the game.

Real Madrid thrashed Milan 5-1 in New York yesterday, ending Massimiliano Allegri’s winning streak in pre-season.
The Rossoneri had won their previous three matches in preparation for the new season, but in facing Jose Mourinho’s Spanish champions at the Yankee Stadium in New York, were hit for five.
Real took the lead through Angel Di Maria before Robinho soon drew the Italians level with a neat interchange with Antonio Nocerino and Antonio Cassano.
However, after that it was a game influenced first by Cristiano Ronaldo and then by Milan transfer target Ricky Kaka. Ronaldo scored two himself before receiving a standing ovation, whilst Kaka, in just under half an hour as a second-half substitute, set up Real’s final two goals.

Villarreal have confirmed that Colombian defender Cristian Zapata has left them to join Milan on a reported season long loan deal.
Reports broke this afternoon that the former Udinese stopper was in Milan undergoing a medical ahead of agreeing an initial loan to return to Italian football.
Villarreal, who were relegated this summer and have reportedly agreed with the Rossoneri an option for the Italians to then sign the defender next year on a permanent basis, have confirmed his departure.
“Villarreal and Milan have reached an agreement to transfer footballer Cristian Zapata for this season,” read a brief statement on the Yellow Submarine’s website.
“Thus, the Colombian defender, 25, who arrived last season at the club from Udinese, will return to play in Italian football with the Rossoneri.”
Since selling Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain for €42m earlier this summer, Milan had been trying to negotiate a deal with Montpellier for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, but have seen talks stall in recent days.

AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal for Colombian defender Cristian Zapata, with the player already in Italy undergoing a medical.
Zapata left Italian football a year ago to sign for Spanish Primera Division side Villarreal, but endured a difficult season with the Yellow Submarine that ultimately ended with their relegation.
The defender is one of several members of the squad thought available on the transfer market this summer as a result, and it looks like Milan have stolen a march on everyone else.
Zapata is, according to Sky Sport Italia, already in Milan undergoing his medical ahead of agreeing to a move to the Serie A runners-up.
The deal is believed to be an initial one-year loan switch, with the Rossoneri also having an option inserted to buy the player on a permanent basis next summer. Exact figures in the transfer are yet to be released.

Reports this afternoon suggest that Roma and Milan are interested in swapping Marco Borriello and Antonio Cassano.
The Corriere dello Sport are reporting that the two clubs are considering the option. Former Milan man Borriello has returned to the Giallorossi this summer after a six-month loan spell with Juventus and is known to be on the lookout for a new club.

Mathieu Flamini sympathises with Robin Van Persie’s contract situation at Arsenal and advises his former teammate to take the best option for himself.
Van Persie is being heavily linked with a transfer this summer, with Manchester City and Juventus said to be the forerunners for his signature, after the Dutchman’s admittance that he would not be extending his Arsenal deal beyond next summer.
Flamini, who left the Gunners on a Bosman deal in 2008 to sign for Milan, believes that Van Persie must make the right decision for his career.

Milan are reportedly close to completing a deal with Caen for their young French striker M’baye Niang.
The 17-year-old has been linked this summer with a move to the Italian Serie A runners-up, as they look to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack.
Capped to Under-21 level by France, Niang, who is described as similar in characteristics to Thierry Henry, recently admitted to having visited the Rossoneri’s training facilities at Milanello.
Subsequently, reports this morning suggest that Milan and Ligue 2 outfit Caen are close to an agreement for the player.
It is believed that Il Diavolo do not value the player at the €5m-asking price Caen have set, and are instead offering an initial loan deal for the forward, with an option then inserted to make the switch permanent over the next year.

Milan and Juventus target Edin Dzeko has conceded that his future at Manchester City depends on whether the big-spending club sign another striker.
City are trying to buy Arsenal’s Robin van Persie which would relegate Dzeko even further down the pecking order, possibly making him available for a move for Italy.
The Bosnian striker, speaking after City’s friendly with his former club Wolfsburg, admitted that he remains unsure.
“At the moment I am a Manchester City player but we must wait until the end of the month to see if van Persie or anybody else arrives,” he told reporters.

Reports in Italy suggest that Milan are struggling to negotiate a deal with Real Madrid due to two economic barriers.
The Rossoneri’s Adriano Galliani was understood to be meeting with Real Madrid’s President Florentino Perez yesterday to discuss possible terms of the Brazilian’s return to San Siro.
However, reports today suggest that this meeting has been put back to Wednesday amid rising doubts over whether the two parties are able to reach common ground.

Gazprom have officially denied growing rumours they are prepared to invest €180m into Milan. “This story does not correspond with reality.”
The reports had already emerged over the last few days and spread to Spanish newspaper As this morning.
They were fuelled by Rossoneri patron Silvio Berlusconi’s alleged trip to Russia for talks with President Vladimir Putin, who has control over the state-run natural gas company.
“The story that Gazprom will be sponsors or co-owners of AC Milan does not correspond with reality,” announced spokesman Serghei Kuprianov.

The Brazilian playmaker has been linked with a return to San Siro this summer after reportedly being told by Jose Mourinho that he has no future with Los Blancos.

Davide Astori’s agent has warned Milan and Juventus must face a potential €8m price-tag if they are to prise him from Cagliari.

Milan’s attempt to take Edin Dzeko on loan has faltered, as Manchester City want only a €31.5m permanent deal, it’s reported.
According to Goal.com, the Rossoneri have made a bid to get in front of Juventus in the race for the unsettled striker.
Both Italian sides have been tracking the player ever since he was at Wolfsburg.
However, their offer to take Dzeko on loan with option to buy has not impressed Roberto Mancini and his club.
City paid £27m for the Bosnian centre-forward in 2011, so are determined to make back at least most of their money.
It is reported Manchester City have slapped a price-tag of £25m - €31.5m – on Dzeko.

“In a way it’s more exciting, as this is a team we want to see grow before our eyes. I can promise we’ll be appreciated and we’ll improve. It’ll be the start of a fascinating challenge.
“Our first objective is to remain among the top three in Italy and therefore qualify for the Champions League. In Europe our target is to get past the group phase, hopefully reaching the quarter-finals.”
Fans were furious at the depletion of the squad with Ibra and Thiago Silva sold to PSG just weeks after they were confirmed to stay at San Siro.
“It’s pointless looking back now,” sighed Allegri. “We will change our way of playing and look ahead. We all have more responsibility on our shoulders now. I do think the team will be reinforced, as a couple of players will arrive this summer.”
The big name on the horizon is Kaka, who could return just three years after his huge transfer to Real Madrid, but where will he fit into the tactics?
“Kaka? He can play in front of the defence, of course!” joked Allegri.
The US tour has been a success so far with back-to-back wins over Schalke, Chelsea and CD Olimpia.
“The team is working well, we’re not at the top of our game, but it’s not important to be there now. I am satisfied with the lads, their intensity, the way they are set out and approach football. We allowed little or nothing to Chelsea, the champions of Europe.
“This is a fundamental year for Alexandre Pato and Kevin-Prince Boateng. They have to take the definitive step up in quality and having more responsibility will be good for both of them.”
It will be tough to replace their top scorer, but Allegri has a plan for the post-Ibrahimovic era.
“Ibra makes the play very centralised, whereas now the football will be distributed in a different way,” explained the Coach.
“At the end of last season we had too many injuries and lost Thiago, while the Champions League elimination was a psychological blow. But that doesn’t mean we should’ve lost the Scudetto.
“Are Juventus set to dominate? Last year the papers said we were going to dominate, that it was a battle between Milan and Inter. Yet Juve emerged unbeaten, so, who knows?
“I think this’ll be a more balanced campaign, as Roma have improved, Napoli no longer have to worry about the Champions League and Andrea Stramaccioni has been doing good work with Inter.
“Juve are the favourites and made some good buys, but you never know.”
Among the players who left this summer, Gattuso was very critical of Allegri’s leadership skills and claimed there was “chaos” in the locker room.
“The rules were never destroyed,” assured the Coach. “In every locker room there are moments of tension, but it’s not as if in the Scudetto season we were all hugs and kisses. There are characters you need to be kind with and others who need to be thumped.”
Gazprom to invest in AC Milan?

Russian President Vladimir Putin is reportedly in talks with club President Silvio Berlusconi over the possibility of Gazprom investing in Milan.
Berlusconi, who is also the former Prime Minister of Italy and a good friend of Putin’s, spoke to Milan Channel last week and for the first time ever admitted that the club is open to foreign investors.
“Foreign investors? The doors are open for anyone who wants to help our squad. We have Milan in our hearts and we’re thinking about what’s best for Milan.”
The statement is timely, some might say, since Milan recently cleared their debt by selling superstars Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG, thus making the club’s finances more attractive for investors.
“Our finances will be in order for the next three to four years”, Berlusconi told Milan Channel.
This weekend, Berlusconi reportedly traveled to Russia to pay Putin a visit. The purpose of the trip is said to be a non-political matter and the stay will last for four days, with Berlusconi returning to Italy today.
It’s speculated that the two Presidents have had serious discussions about Putin investing in Milan through government-run company Gazprom.
The natural gas provider is currently the main sponsor of German club Schalke 04, Luciano Spalletti’s Zenit St Petersburg and Serbian side Red Star Belgrade.
Rumors have been floating around for quite some time that Putin would be interested in putting money into Milan, something the club now seems open to.

The Eastlands manager spoke to Sky Sport Italia this afternoon and was asked about Juventus and Milan’s interest in Dzeko.
“I’m pleased, as this means we have good players, but it’s pretty unlikely he will leave,” said Mancini.

Vice-President Edoardo Garrone admits “Sampdoria fans ask me in the street why Antonio Cassano isn’t coming back, but we have to look ahead.”
The striker and fan favourite was sold to Milan last year following a blazing row with President Riccardo Garrone, although the two have now put the incident behind them.
“Sampdoria fans always ask me in the street why Cassano isn’t coming back, but I have to reply Cassano is happy where he is and we have to look ahead,” Garrone Jr told Sky Sport Italia.
“Will he return next year? Anything can happen in life and I don’t feel like ruling anything out.
“He loves this city and set down roots here, got married and had a son, so sooner or later I’m sure he will return regardless of whether it’s with Sampdoria or not.
“However, Cassano is not part of our project, at least for now.”
RVP sparks transfer merry-go-round

Juventus, Arsenal, Manchester City, United, Milan and Inter are locked in a transfer merry-go-round involving Robin Van Persie, Edin Dzeko, Alessandro Matri and Lucas Moura.
It has been well known for some time that Juve are interested in taking Van Persie from the Gunners, where he only has one year left to run on his contract.
The £28m bidding war has broken out between the Bianconeri, Manchester City and Manchester United.
It’s reported City are now the favourites, but this could actually suit Juventus, as they’d then release alternative target Dzeko.
However, there is still a problem, as Milan are also keeping a close eye on Dzeko and are prepared to swoop in with an offer.
Juve could in turn deflect their attention by proposing Milan pick up Matri instead, leaving the path free for them to take Dzeko and Manchester City to grab Van Persie.
Manchester United are left out, but they are thought to be piling on the pressure to sign Sao Paolo striker Lucas Moura for £30m.
Lucas is also a prime target for Inter, though President Massimo Moratti warned this week he would not break the bank for the Brazilian.

Massimiliano Allegri was impressed with Milan’s Boston performance when defeating Deportivo Olimpia. “The game went exactly as it should have.”
The Rossoneri earned a 3-1 victory as part of their US tour last night thanks to Robinho and an Antonio Nocerino brace.
“I liked the team’s performance and it wasn’t easy in this heat,” the Coach told Milan Channel.
“The individuals did well and the game went exactly as it should have.
“We played better in the first half, then our opponents got stronger, partly due to the various substitutions we made.
“If a match is based on technique, then it’s logical that someone like Antonio Cassano will be able to shine. Now bring on Real Madrid.”

Adriano Galliani warns “Montpellier turned down our offer and we cannot reach an agreement” for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, so Milan are looking elsewhere.
The French defender had been the prime target to strengthen the back four after Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Motta left this summer.
“Montpellier turned down our offer and we cannot reach an agreement for buying the player,” said Vice-President Galliani.
“Therefore, the case is closed, with no regrets or bitterness. We have already identified other targets, but I won’t tell you who they are even under torture!”
It might only be over for the moment, because Yanga-Mbiwa’s contract with Montpellier expires in June 2013.
The Rossoneri hope to go under the radar in their next move, after Yanga-Mbiwa was splashed all over the newspapers, much to the irritation of Montpellier.

Robinho and an Antonio Nocerino double confirmed the new-look Milan’s impressive pre-season form, as they pushed past CD Olimpia in Boston.
The US tour continued in the blazing sun against the Hondurans with Antonio Cassano finding his sharpness.
FantAntonio repeatedly combined with Robinho and created space for Nocerino to push up from midfield.
The Brazilian opened the scoring with a snooker-shot into the far bottom corner.
Stephan El Shaarawy wasted another good opportunity before Robinho knocked down a Cassano cross for Nocerino to double their lead.
Robinho also set up Ignazio Abate, who ran into traffic in the box and smartly rolled across for Nocerino’s tap-in.

Villarreal sporting director Jose Manuel Llaneza has silenced reports that Italian forward Giuseppe Rossi will move to Milan this summer.
Rumours had emerged that Massimiliano Allegri was looking at the forward to replace the PSG-departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
As quoted by Milannews, Llaneza denied that a deal for the player was already in place between the two clubs.
“Rossi to Milan? This is the first I’ve heard of it, so what is there to say?
“It is clear that there is nothing to say in regards to this. There is nothing.”
The 25-year-old New Jersey native has been at the Yellow Submarines since 2007.
In April he injured his anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee for the second time in a year and is expected to be sidelined until March.

Mourinho happy to keep Kaka

Jose Mourinho has backtracked on the original reported stance that he would like to sell Ricky Kaka this summer, stating that he’d be happy for him to stay.
The Brazilian was reportedly told by the Portuguese last week that he had no future in his first-team plans for the coming season, before being advised to lower his wage demands in order to find another club.
Subsequently he has been linked with a return to Milan, the club he left for Real in 2009, with Vice-President Adriano Galliani reported as flying out today to meet with Florentino Perez to ratify a transfer.
However, having recalled the player to his pre-season plans, Coach Mourinho has suggested that the Spanish don’t have to sell Kaka and will be just as happy to keep him on board.
“For me, Kaka can stay. Ricardo is a good player and if he stays then we will try to get the best out of him,” reflected Mourinho after watching his Real side beat LA Galaxy 5-1 in a pre-season friendly.
“Last year he played a good season, without being brilliant. Until August 31, his decision and ours is that he stays.
“He is a good player, works for the group and in is determined in games. I’m not going to go into everything, he helps a lot. I don’t need to send him instruction during a training or during a match.
“We know each other well and we have been through much together. I know what he thinks and we don’t need to send message between each other.
“The most important thing is that he can decide his future with regards to self-esteem and personal happiness.
“If he decides to stay then we are happy, and if he decides to leave, we are happy also.
“For me, though, there is no problem.”

Following on from Gennaro Gattuso’s criticism of his former Milan Coach, Ronaldinho has launched a broadside at Massimiliano Allegri too.
The Brazilian was sold to Flamengo midway through Allegri’s first season in charge at San Siro and reflected today that, like Gattuso, he was left with a bitter taste in his mouth at the treatment received from the Coach.
“I am a player that always wants to play, but many times Allegri left me out,” he told reporters today.
“This left me very upset. I was in good shape when I was at Milan but he didn’t play me to give me the opportunity to express myself, so that is why I left.”
Robinho 'always free for Santos'

Robinho has revealed that Santos did make an offer for him this summer that Milan turned down, an offer that he would always have considered.
The Brazilian was strongly linked with a second return to the club earlier this summer, with delegates from Santos at one stage in Milan talking with Rossonero officials.
However, Milan declared the player was off the market and rejected the Brazilian side’s advances. Whilst confirming this version of events himself, Robinho has refused to close the door on speculation of a move entirely, encouraging Santos to come back in again.

“I am good friends with the President, Luis Alvaro, and we talk frequently. It is true that Santos recent asked Milan about signing me, but they refused the offer.

Comments emanating from Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko that he is unhappy in England have put Milan and Juventus on alert.
Both Serie A sides are in the market for a striker this summer and both have been linked with the Bosnian forward.
The Rossoneri have been paired with the forward as an alternative option to Carlos Tevez, whilst the Bianconeri have been rumoured to have been ‘promised’ the player, if City sign Robin Van Persie.
The duo will be on high alert now, after the player gave an interview to German magazine Kicker, in which he made clear that he could leave Manchester this summer.
“In the second part of the season I was slightly sidelined,” Dzeko reflected.
“And I have no idea why I lost this continuity. I came here to play, so I never considered this problem.
“I’m think I am too good to spend another season on the bench, so anything is possible for my future, despite the words of Mancini.
“However, there is nothing concrete just yet.”
Dzeko started just 16 games in the Premier League during the 2011-12 campaign, making a further 14 appearances from the bench, scoring 14 goals in total.

Adriano Galliani has reportedly flown out to the United States to hold talks with Real Madrid and Ricky Kaka over a proposed transfer.
The Brazilian is being strongly linked with a return to San Siro, after three largely unsuccessful seasons playing in Spain.
Coach Jose Mourinho has told the player behind closed doors that he won’t be a first-team player next term and Milan have publicly admitted that they are interested in the player.
Club director Ariedo Braida yesterday described the Rossoneri as ‘on standby’ for Kaka and today La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Vice-President Galliani has now flown out to North America.
Real are on tour in the US at the moment and it is understood that the purpose of Galliani’s trip is to hold talks with their President Florentino Perez over the proposed transfer. These negotiations are reportedly scheduled for August 7.
AC Milan interested in Giuseppe Rossi

Milan are reportedly keen to pick up Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi this summer from Villarreal for an initial low bid.
Rossi, who has otherwise been linked with Napoli, is widely considered to be available for transfer this summer, after his team’s relegation in Spain to the Segunda Division.
However, still recovering from knee ligament damage, the player is unavailable for selection until February 2013.
Even so, the Corriere dello Sport understand that Milan are in talks with the Spanish over a possible deal and are offering an initial €7m to take the 25-year-old. This is then to be followed up with a bonus structure totalling a further significant sum. However, it is believed that Villarreal are keen for at least €11m up front, followed by a large bonus scheme.
Rossi’s agent explained recently that a split transfer spend like this would likely be the most feasible option to transfer the injured star during this window.
Didac Vila offered for 'virtually free'

It is being reported that Milan were so keen to avoid Didac Vila’s move to Valencia falling through that they offered the Spaniards a significant reduction on him.
The young full-back’s move to Los Che collapsed yesterday after findings in his medical examination highlighted the risk of a groin injury that would need surgery to be repaired.
However, as lasprovincias.es report, when the Rossoneri were informed by Valencia that the move was being cancelled, they counter-offered handing over the player for just an initial €100,000.
This was €700,000 less than the original fee agreed to send the player back to Spain for next term on loan. Milan were also then reportedly prepared to waiver a significant proportion of the agreed redemption fee, that originally stood at €4.2m.
However, Valencia are understood to have rejected this offer for the belief that the player needs more than a month to recover from the groin injury and that surgery would still likely be required.

AC Milan's Didac Vila fails Valencia medical

Didac Vila’s loan move to Valencia has collapsed after he failed a medical, confirmed Milan this afternoon.
The Spanish defender spent last season in La Liga with Espanyol and was hoping to make it a permanent return to his homeland this term.
A loan deal with option to buy had been agreed, but Didac Vila has been sent back to San Siro after failing his medical.

Massimiliano Allegri is keen to look ahead to a new chapter in Milan’s history and not to get involved in Gennaro Gattuso’s war of words.
The midfielder was one of a number of players to leave San Siro at the start of this summer and this week offered his insight into why he turned down a one-year contract extension in order to depart.
However, Allegri has hit back and suggested that Gattuso’s words are not conducive to the Rossoneri’s season preparations.

Galliani: 'Kaka meeting in New York'

Roma and Milan are in mourning after the sudden death of Scudetto-winning full-back Aldo Maldera.
The former Italian international had notched up 228 appearances for Milan before going to Roma from 1982-85 and finishing his career with Fiorentina in 1987.
Maldera won the Scudetto at Milan in 1979 and with Roma in 1983, plus two Coppa Italia trophies and the Mitropa Cup.
He died at the age of 58 after a short illness.

The Rossoneri need a new centre-back after losing both Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva this summer.
Their prime target is Yanga-Mbiwa, but Montpellier are refusing to release him for less than €18m, whereas the offer was just €6m.
According to Tuttosport, the difficulties in France have prompted Milan to change tack and return to one of their previous options.
