Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is thought to have placed Stephan El Shaarawy on his wish-list after problems with Milan.
The 20-year-old forward was a sensation in the first half of the season, but has struggled for form and confidence since Mario Balotelli joined Milan in January.
He still notched up an impressive 16 goals in 37 Serie A games, plus two in the Champions League and one in the Coppa Italia.
The ‘Little Pharaoh’ has barely featured during the Confederations Cup either, as Coach Cesare Prandelli pointed out he was “empty” after a tough campaign.
According to the Daily Mirror, El Shaarawy is a transfer target for Chelsea manager Mourinho and available for £30m.
The Rossoneri have been clear that everyone is on the market, including El Shaarawy, while Adriano Galliani confirmed he’ll hold a meeting with the player on Tuesday.
El Shaarawy has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal and Monaco.

The Japan international is expected to leave Russia this season, as he will be out of contract in December.

The captain is a free agent, as his contract expires today and the Rossoneri opted not to offer a renewal.
He is thought to be close to joining Fiorentina, as confirmed by his agent.

Massimo Ambrosini is on the verge of joining Fiorentina, confirmed his agent. “We’re just waiting for the call.”
The midfielder is out of contract after Milan decided not to renew his deal, so the captain is looking for a new club for the first time in 18 years.

Mario Yepes confirmed he is leaving Milan “by mutual consent” and is likely to return to Colombia.
The 36-year-old defender is out of contract on June 30 and will not be renewing his deal with the Rossoneri.
“For now I am focused on preparing well for a good season. This is why we decided by mutual consent to leave Milan,” he explained.
“I had the opportunity to continue at Milan, but I want to play more consistently so that I can be in the best form for the World Cup next year, assuming we qualify.”

Milan chief Adriano Galliani confirms he’ll meet Stephan El Shaarawy on Tuesday and believes Italy would’ve beaten Spain with Mario Balotelli.
There are continuing rumours that the Rossoneri want to sell El Shaarawy to Fiorentina for Adem Ljajic or Stevan Jovetic.
“I will see El Shaarawy on Tuesday,” Vice-President Galliani told Sky Sport Italia this afternoon.
As for Balotelli, he returned from international duty at the Confederations Cup with a thigh injury, so missed the semi-final with Spain.
“With Mario we certainly would’ve scored one more penalty in the shoot-out, so at this stage we could’ve been in the Final.
“I spoke to Mario and he is feeling better after treatment, as confirmed by the medical staff. In a few more days he can go on vacation.”
Galliani has been adamant that Milan won’t be signing any more players until they have whittled down their squad, as figures like Robinho and Mathieu Flamini are in limbo.
“If Flamini goes, will Andrea Poli arrive? No, we have too many players. First we must sell and only then buy.
“We are talking to Sampdoria, but at the moment nothing is decided with Poli.”
The Vice-President was also asked about news Indonesian magnate Erick Thohir will buy up 40 per cent of Inter’s shares.

Josip Ilicic has offers from Bayer Leverkusen and the Premier League, but the Palermo man’s agent insists “he wants to stay in Italy.”
The Slovenian trequartista is set to leave Palermo after their relegation into Serie B and has numerous options on the table.

Italy will wear black armbands tonight after former player Stefano Borgonovo lost his battle with motor neurone disease, aged 49.
The ex-Milan and Fiorentina star announced he was suffering from the illness which strikes sports figures in September 2008.
It is known as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or Lou Gherig’s Disease, but is a form of motor neurone disease that had reduced Borgonovo to paralysis for many years.
He and former teammates held many events to help raise funds into researching the condition, as he was good friends with Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Baggio.
Modern stars like David Beckham, Mario Balotelli and Pippo Inzaghi also went to visit Borgonovo.
He was a striker who grew up in the Como youth academy, going on to play at Milan, Fiorentina, Pescara, Udinese and Brescia before retiring in 1996.
He represented Italy at Under-21, Under-23 and senior level with three full caps.
Borgonovo had his best playing years at Fiorentina, scoring 14 goals in 30 games in 1988-89 with teammate Baggio.
He had started a career as a Coach at Como, but had to retire in 2005 due to the onset of the disease.

AC Milan have been linked with a bid for veteran Manchester United defender Nemaja Vidic.
This is certainly not the first time the Rossoneri have shown interest in the Serbian international, who had been sought after in the past few transfer sessions.
The Daily Express claims Massimiliano Allegri’s side are renewing their attempts to buy Vidic this summer.

Sole 24 Ore claimed this morning that with Juventus signing Carlos Tevez, the Bianconeri would now turn away from their proposed move for the Montenegrin forward.
As such, it is believed that the Rossoneri would make a move for the 23-year-old, and could offer Stephan El Shaarawy in a swap deal.
The board member though, has denied those stories.

AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani says he has no regrets about missing out on Carlos Tevez after the latter joined Scudetto rivals Juventus.
The Diavolo have been in talks about possibly signing the Argentine since January 2012, but the striker has now completed a move to the Old Lady.
“It wasn’t a transfer that has wiped the smile off my face,” Galliani told journalists outside of the Lega Calcio offices. “Seeing Tevez in a Juventus shirt has no effect on me.
“Tevez said that Juventus wanted him more than Milan? That is the truth. We stopped because nobody left.
“We have five attackers who numerically and quality wise are more than sufficient, so it is therefore obvious that nobody could come in if someone didn’t head out.
“We’ve said for some time that we can’t buy if we don’t sell.
“We’ll start with the five attackers that we have – Mario Balotelli, Giampaolo Pazzini, Stephan El Shaarawy, Robinho and M’Baye Niang. They offer us certainties.”
After losing out on the now ex-Manchester City player, the Rossoneri have been linked with a move for CSKA’s Keisuke Honda.
“There is no agreement for Honda,” the official added. “As I’ve said, he can only be signed if someone is sold.”
Players being linked with exits are Kevin Prince Boateng and Robinho, with the latter a known target for former club Santos.
“There have been no offers for Boateng. Robinho? The market in Brazil is at a standstill. With everything that is happening in Brazil right now, it is hard for clubs to spend big on players.”
Galliani also admitted that their proposed move for Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli depends on contract talks with Mathieu Flamini.
“Flamini wants to stay at Milan and we would be happy for him to remain, but the player is asking for a certain salary and contract duration. We have different ideas.
“If the player lowers his demands then he will stay, otherwise he’ll go.

The Argentine international completed his transfer to the Turin giants on Wednesday after a deal was agreed with Manchester City.

The Old Lady are looking to strengthen this summer in an effort to compete in the Champions League.

The striker arrived in Turin this evening to complete his €12m transfer from Manchester City. He will undergo a medical either today or tomorrow before signing a three-year contract.

Sky Sport Italia claim Milan are further than ever from agreeing a new contract with Mathieu Flamini.
The former Arsenal midfielder’s current deal expires at the end of the month and today his agent visited Adriano Galliani at the club headquarters.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the meeting was a failure, as it showed there is a huge difference between offer and demand.

Statements from Udinese and Chievo suggest today’s raid on clubs by financial police was targeting specific agents.
This morning financial police staged a co-ordinated raid on 41 different Serie A and B clubs, taking away boxes of documents.
“They also came to Udinese’s headquarters,” confirmed President Franco Soldati.
“They wanted to have the documentation relating to the activities of Alessandro Moggi and another agent. They took away documents regarding a player who was with us for five years.”
Chievo also released an official statement noting they have “collaborated fully” with the authorities, as their investigation is based on agents rather than the club itself.
It is believed this is a raid seeking to find evidence of tax fraud and even potential money laundering.

There are reports Juventus are closing on a €12m (£10m) deal for Carlos Tevez during crunch negotiations with Manchester City today.
Directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici flew in to England today for crucial talks with the Eastlands side.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Juve have offered €10m (approximately £8.5m) and Manchester City are still holding out for €15m (£12.7m).
However, they are whittling down the difference and could eventually reach an agreement for a transfer worth €12m (£10m).

AC Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has underlined that his club need to sell before they can buy this summer.
The Rossoneri have been linked with bids for Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez and Sampdoria’s Andrea Poli, but their market moves are on hold.
“We are not interested in Tevez at this moment in time,” Galliani stated to the Corriere dello Sport. “We can’t do anything given that we already have seven attackers in our squad.
“It’s the same situation for Poli, he’ll only arrive if three or four players leave first. I repeat, we have more players than are necessary right now.”

The midfielder was expected to be shown the door by the Rossoneri this summer, but his agent insists the 28-year-old wants to stay.

The Italian has returned to the peninsula from Brazil after a thigh injury ruled him out of the rest of the tournament.

Mario Balotelli’s Confederations Cup is over due to injury, but Cesare Prandelli insists “there was no pressure from Milan.”
The striker had been ruled out of Thursday’s semi-final against Spain with a left thigh problem, but today tests showed the injury was more serious than at first thought.
It was announced this evening that Super Mario will be leaving the squad immediately for a return to Italy in order to undergo treatment.
He joins his Milan teammate Ignazio Abate, who has already left after dislocating his shoulder in the 4-2 defeat to Brazil.
“Balotelli was very disappointed, but there was no time for him to recover,” explained Coach Prandelli.
“In any case, there was no pressure from Milan on me or the Federation to bring him straight back to Italy.
“Without Mario we will have to try to work more on the collective.”
Alberto Gilardino of Bologna is therefore likely to start against Spain, or Prandelli could embrace a complete change of system.

Berlusconi sentenced to seven years

AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi has been found guilty of paying for sex with an underage prostitute and abusing his Prime Ministerial position to cover it up.
A court in the city today sentenced the 76-year-old to seven years in prison, as well as a lifetime ban on holding public office.
The Rossoneri chief however, has denied the allegations and will appeal the verdict. Such sentences in Italy are only enforced once they are definite – a process which could take years.
Berlusconi was not in Milan today to hear the verdict, but was found guilty of paying for sex with Karima el-Mahroug in 2010, who was 17 at the time. Judges also found that the politician had pressured the Milanese police into releasing Miss Mahroug, after she had been arrested on suspicion of theft.

The San Siro side today announced that the Italy international will wear the armband next season following Massimo Ambrosini's transfer to Fiorentina.

Riccardo Montolivo has been named as the new captain of Milan – just a year after his arrival at San Siro.
The Rossoneri are looking for a new man to wear the armband after Massimo Ambrosini’s contract was not renewed.
The midfielder has beaten competition from veteran shot-stopper Christian Abbiati for the honour.
“Montolivo will be Milan’s captain,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani commented. “I’ve spoken with Abbiati and there are no problems.”

The midfielder is available on a Bosman free transfer after Milan opted against renewing his expiring contract.
Despite interest from clubs outside of Italy, the Viola have expressed an admiration for the 36-year-old and he’s admitted he would consider an eventual Tuscan offer.
The Gazzetta says that a deal could be wrapped up in the next two or three days for the former Italian international.

It’s reported Milan cooled their interest in Carlos Tevez because they’re in talks for CSKA Moscow and Japan star Keisuke Honda.
There is a limit on the number of non-EU players Serie A sides can bring into the country each year, so the Rossoneri have only one more slot left after signing Colombian defender Jherson Vergara.
The plan had been to sign Tevez from Manchester City, but their interest has notably cooled over the last few days, opening the door for Juventus to resume their chase.
According to Sport Mediaset, the reason is Milan are instead looking at Japan international Honda, who so impressed in the 4-3 Confederations Cup defeat to Italy.

Adriano Galliani confirmed Robinho’s Santos talks are “static” and Milan can’t sign Carlos Tevez unless he leaves, but Kevin-Prince Boateng and Stephan El Shaarawy stay.
The Vice-President spoke to Sky Sport Italia about several different transfer stories that have been circulating, very important for those placing Championship bets before the start.
“There are no offers for Boateng. The player has not requested a move, nor have any other clubs made enquiries,” said Galliani. “I met with Monaco, but it was purely a courtesy visit. Nobody believes me!
“As for Robinho, the negotiations with Santos are static. We are in talks, but have not reached any agreement on the figures.”
This situation is having a knock-on effect for Manchester City forward Tevez, who is targeted by both Milan and Juventus.

The striker has been in negotiations with his former club, on and off, for over a year after declaring he was homesick.
It had been widely reported that a deal was ready to be done worth €7m, but that now seems to be up in the air due to Robinho’s personal demands.

There are reports Milan President Silvio Berlusconi offered Massimo Ambrosini a new contract on Friday, but he refused.
The captain will be released from his deal when it expires on June 30, ending 18 years at San Siro.
According to SportMediaset, President Berlusconi personally called Ambrosini on Friday evening to offer another year on the contract.
However, the midfielder turned it down, having already said his goodbyes and realised he is no longer wanted.
It seems a very strange development for Berlusconi to offer a renewal on Friday when general manager Adriano Galliani publicly declared Ambrosini’s deal would not be extended on Tuesday.
Ambro’s agent was critical of the way Milan handled the affair, as they announced the decision to media before telling him.
If this is true, then it is another example of the growing discord within the club, as President Berlusconi already clashed with Galliani over whether to keep Coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The Brazilian legend sat down with La Gazzetta dello Sport for an exclusive interview ahead of the Confederations Cup.
“Balotelli has the great gift of talent, as he knows how to treat the ball a certain way and find the net. In Brazil this is already enough for us to be won over by a player,” said Ronaldo.
“However, it is not enough for what Balotelli could become. He mustn’t use his age or his talent as an excuse to do the odd stupid thing on the pitch.
“If a striker knows how to play, they are going to provoke him and give him a beating. I know full well, but if I had reacted every time someone kicked me... We have all done silly things in our lives, but we must realise when it’s time to stop. Count to five before responding.

“The advice I give Balotelli is this: do not waste your talent. At the Maracanà you can tell who is a real player and who is bluffing, so I tell him not to be over-awed by the atmosphere. “Even when Italy played badly in a tournament, they still managed to get to at least the quarter-final or semi-final. Now they play good football as well and Brazil know that,” continued Ronaldo.

The Milan forward was expected to start against Mexico in the Confederations Cup opener on Sunday evening.

Massimo Ambrosini has described his time at Milan as ‘marvellous’, but refused to rule out a move to Fiorentina.
The club captain is looking for a new outfit after the Diavolo opted against renewing his contract which expires this month.
“This isn’t easy,” he said at a Press conference on Friday. “I’m emotional.
“I decided to wait a few days before talking as I didn’t want to say something in the heat of the moment which wouldn’t have done justice to my 18 years in Rossonero.

The youngster’s future is in doubt after Diavolo Vice-President Adriano Galliani admitted the player was not untouchable on the transfer market.

AC Milan seem closer to Carlos Tevez, as Juventus reportedly insist they won’t get into a bidding war for the Manchester City star.
The striker’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, was photographed in Milan today in a meeting with Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
“It was a meeting between old friends,” admitted Galliani to the media.
Sport Mediaset had claimed Juventus directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici had also met with Joorabchian earlier today.

AC Milan and Juventus were in meetings with Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez’s agent today.
The Rossoneri have hinted at their interest in the Argentine, who had already been close to a transfer several times over the past two years.
According to Sky Sport Italia, agent Kia Joorabchian flew into Milan this afternoon and went straight into meetings with Milan and Juventus representatives.
"It was a meeting between old friends," assured Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

New Inter boss Walter Mazzarri has reportedly asked the club to make an offer for Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino.
The Corriere dello Sport has made that claim this morning given that the tactician is known to be an admirer of the Italian international.
As recently as January, Mazzarri’s Napoli were in talks with the Diavolo about a possible swap deal which would have seen Blerim Dzemaili head to San Siro as part of the transfer.
Nocerino was signed by the Diavolo in the summer of 2011 from Palermo for just €500,000. He responded to the move with 10 goals in 35 games.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to pay Edinson Cavani’s €63m buy-out clause, which Napoli would re-invest in Stephan El Shaarawy.
The transfer narrative was laid out by Sport Mediaset this evening, touching on a number of different stories dominating headlines in Italy.

The links have been active for several months and Sky Sport Italia claim a deal is only hours away.

The Under-21 international, currently taking part in the European Championship for the Azzurrini, scored seven goals in 20 League games in the past campaign.

The Rossoneri official last night ignited transfer speculation about the youngster when he admitted a sale was not impossible.
“I haven’t heard the words of Galliani,” Roberto La Florio told Sport Italia. “I’m going with what he said a few days ago when he stated that the player was not available for transfer.

AC Milan have officially announced that Massimo Ambrosini will leave this summer, making Riccardo Montolivo the new captain.
“Our path and that of Ambrosini are separating, as he will not renew his contract with Milan,” announced Adriano Galliani.
He had been the captain, but there is a very surprising choice to take over the armband.
“If Christian Abbiati agrees, then the next captain of Milan will be Montolivo.”
This is an unusual decision, as Montolivo only arrived on a free transfer from Fiorentina a year ago.
Ambrosini has been linked with a move abroad to West Ham United, Canada or the United States.
The 36-year-old has been with the Rossoneri for 18 years, first joining in July 1995 from Cesena.
There was a one-year loan spell at Vicenza in 1997-98, but that was his only foray outside San Siro.

The study was conducted by Sporting Intelligence and covered all professional team sports around the globe.
Manchester City came out on top with their players receiving an average £5.2m per season, which provides £100,000 per week.
Baseball team the LA Dodgers were second with an average pay of £4.85m per year, then Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Milan were surprisingly in sixth place, climbing from last year’s rank of seventh despite actively cutting down their wage bill.
The Rossoneri are paid on average £4.25m per year or £81,752 a week.
Despite failing to qualify for Europe, Inter are in 10th place on the global sports charts, paying out £4m per year and £76,923 a week.
The Nerazzurri are below basketball giants the LA Lakers, Europa League winners Chelsea and Champions League victors Bayern Munich.
Double Scudetto winners Juventus are back in 35th position with average wages of £2.96m a year, £56,244 per week.
Roma are the next highest payers in Serie A in 58th place with £2.35m per year, while Lazio can be found at number 115 with £1.48m wages.

Versatile Milan midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng is set to make a return to international football with Ghana.
The 26-year-old hasn’t represented his nation since he quit in November 2011, citing fitness reasons for his decision.
“Boateng’s father is my relative and we used talks with him and the boy to convince the player to return to the Black Stars,” Ghana official Yaw Boateng Djan told Peace FM on Tuesday.
“In fact, he could have returned earlier as he was being considered for this month’s matches, but an injury prevented his inclusion.”
The former Portsmouth man could now return in his country’s final 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia in September.
Djan also dismissed speculation that Boateng had demanded to bring his own personal fitness trainer with him should he return to the set-up.

The game between the two Italian giants, played in memory of Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi’s father Luigi, has been a pre-season appetiser since 1991.
However, there is no room in the summer schedule to fit in the San Siro encounter this time around.

Pippo Inzaghi has advised Stephan El Shaarawy to remain at Milan amidst reports that he is wanted by Manchester City.
“He should stay,” the former Diavolo striker told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “He can keep growing as a player here.

AC Milan have been in contact with the agent of Carlos Tevez regarding a possible move, Vice-President Adriano Galliani has revealed.
The Argentine is expected to leave Manchester City this summer given that he is only contracted at the club until 2014.
Juventus have shown an interest in the striker, but Galliani has suggested that the player wouldn’t move to a Diavolo rival.
“Carlitos won’t betray me,” Galliani stated to journalists before showing them a text message from Kia Joorabchian, the 29-year-old’s agent.

Fabrizio Manza was on the bus of Brescia supporters that crashed on its way back from the Serie B promotion play-off in Livorno two weeks ago.
Balotelli, who grew up in Brescia, went to visit Manza in hospital and kept it quiet until the fan revealed it on Facebook.
A 22-year-old supporter died in the accident, while there were 20 injured.

It had looked as if the tactician would be axed, but he’s been kept on at the outfit by President Silvio Berlusconi following crunch talks last Sunday.

The Coach was confirmed in his job after crunch talks on Sunday evening and spoke to Sky Sport Italia tonight.

Bolt is in Rome for a race meeting and spoke to TG1 about Italian sportsmen, specifically Super Mario.

Six fans have been handed prison sentences for racially abusing Milan players during a January friendly at Pro Patria.
The men will be imprisoned for between 40 days and two months after the match was abandoned in the first half.
Tired of the racist chants coming from a section of the crowd, Kevin Prince Boateng picked up the ball, blasted it into the stands with frustration and walked off the pitch. His teammates followed.
Boateng, M’Baye Niang and Sulley Muntari were the targets of the abuse. The first two players gave evidence in the case, while Muntari’s decision to not show up in court has cost him a fine of €500.
The public prosecutor in Busto Arsizio had called for prison sentences of between four and six months.

Sampdoria have revealed that they have held just one round of talks with Milan to discuss a transfer for Andrea Poli.
The Diavolo are in pole position to net the Italian international, but no deal has yet been done with the Marassi outfit.

Real Madrid’s Kaka is back on the transfer wish-list of Italian giants Milan, claims the Corriere dello Sport.
The 31-year-old is said to have been requested by President Silvio Berlusconi during Sunday’s crunch talks with boss Massimiliano Allegri.
Berlusconi agreed to keep Allegri on as Coach, but it is understood that he’s asked the tactician to abandon the 4-3-3 system in favour of a return to 4-3-1-2.

The Brazilian moved to the Diavolo in 2003 and left six years later when Real agreed to pay €67.2m for the South American.

However, Kaka could be kept on by Real if Carlo Ancelotti, his former Coach in Rossonero, is appointed by Madrid.

The patron repeatedly postponed crunch talks with his Coach until Sunday night, when he finally announced Allegri would be staying at San Siro, but there was no contract renewal.
“The rapport with Allegri has always been very cordial, but we had different viewpoints on certain decisions to take with regards to some players,” Berlusconi told Teleroma 56.

“We maintained the contract that we already had. We affirmed what were the rights and duties of a Coach in his rapport with the club.”
This phrase was also used in the statement released by the President on Sunday evening. However, at the time it was a mutual affirmation of rights and duties, whereas Berlusconi now put it forward as only the club reminding the Coach what is expected of him.

A few Bianconeri supporters have consistently insulted Balotelli, even when they were not playing Milan.
This latest incident is particularly serious, as the racist abuse was heard during a game between teenage players.

The encounter has been postponed several times over the last two weeks, but they will finally sit down together at Berlusconi’s Arcore home.
It will be a dinner between Berlusconi, Allegri and Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
There are two options to emerge from this meeting, as either Allegri will be confirmed for next season or he’ll leave to take up Roma’s job offer.

“There is no specific link between being a good player and a good Coach, as they are completely different jobs.”
There are new reports that Seedorf – who is still playing at Botafogo in Brazil – signed a pre-contract agreement with Milan five months ago.
Meanwhile, another option is Frank Rijkaard, who has experience both as a player at Milan and a Coach with Barcelona.
“It could well be, but as things stand the only thing linking him with the Rossoneri bench is a rumour,” agent Perry Overeem told MilanNews.it.
“Nobody from Milan has called us. As for the future, never say never, but at the moment Frank is happy to stay and watch for a year.”

It’s reported President Silvio Berlusconi will only keep Max Allegri if Milan win the Champions League play-off.
The saga continues to drag on ahead of tomorrow night’s crunch meeting between Berlusconi, Coach Allegri and Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
A dinner between Galliani and Allegri on Thursday evening seemed to smooth things over, but rumours are emerging that the situation is far from clear.
Berlusconi is expected to tell Allegri he can only remain on the bench and be given a contract extension if Milan win the Champions League preliminary round, gaining entry into the tournament proper.
This puts the Coach in a very tricky position, as failure would leave him fired at the end of August with other jobs already under lock and key.
Allegri has so far kept Roma hanging with their three-year contract offer, so he would be taking a big risk if he relied on Berlusconi’s conditions.
He is also eager to know whether there is a real project in place at San Siro, which would mean a contract renewal and show of faith in his abilities.
Prandelli: 'Balotelli's best game'

Cesare Prandelli had good news for Luca Antonelli and said Mario Balotelli’s performance against San Marino “was his best in my time here.”
Italy won the friendly 4-0 at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna on Friday evening with goals from Andrea Poli, Alberto Gilardino, Andrea Pirlo and Alberto Aquilani.
There were concerns for Genoa full-back Antonelli, who limped off before half-time and was taken to hospital for x-rays on a suspected fractured shin.
“The good news is there is no fracture for Antonelli,” announced Prandelli in his Press conference.
“We tried to play quickly and not allow counter-attacks to our opponents, so I saw what I wanted to see and am very satisfied.
“Many players were called up so I could see them in action and work with them in training. It was a useful match to understand a few things, as there are some precise choices that need to be made.”
The Coach must whittle down his squad to the final 23 for the Confederations Cup on Monday, so gave Marco Sau and Giacomo Bonaventura their senior Italy debuts.
“You can’t expect players to have a perfect balance after only a couple of training sessions. Sau moved well in attack and the others were simply unable to find him with their passes. It was a good debut for both Sau and Bonaventura.”
Although Balotelli did not score as a second half substitute, he did hit the woodwork twice after suffering from back pain all week.
“Balotelli played his best game since I’ve been here. He must always have this spirit and this hunger. This is the attitude a champion needs to have and he transmitted it to his teammates.
“The people love Mario and we’re all happy, as this Nazionale is popular with the fans. The lads are enthusiastic, hungry and happy to see so many fans in the stadium. We thank the supporters for coming out and cheering on the players, as the team definitely feels that warmth.”
Italy now continue their preparations for the Confederations Cup and the World Cup qualifier in the Czech Republic on June 7.

Pippo Inzaghi and Andriy Shevchenko were on target in Kakha Kaladze’s testimonial match in Georgia.
The former Milan and Genoa defender said goodbye to football in Tbilisi, where he now has a career as a politician.
Milan Glorie beat Friends4Kaladze 3-1 on the night with Giorgi Demetradze opening the scoring from the penalty spot.
In the second half it was all Rossoneri, as Inzaghi, Shevchenko and Pietro Vierchowod turned the game around.
Kaladze played as Milan Glorie captain for the first half, then for the second wore the armband for the other team.
“He will always be remembered by Milan and its fans,” said Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
Among those in action in Tbilisi were Paolo Maldini, Franco Baresi, Serginho, Zvonimir Boban, Daniele Massaro, Roque Junior, Fabio Cannavaro, Fabio Grosso and Luca Toni.
