Once the midfielder has only 12 months left, his fee will considerably drop. With the player just turning 30 last week, he is nearing the end of his playing career. If he does let his contract run down then he may be able to secure one last big payday before he finally hangs up his boots.

The player and his partner have just had a new child and his other two children are settled in schools based in the capital.
