Minister for Integration Cecile Kyenge said those who applaud Mario Balotelli and Angelo Ogbonna are “the better side of Italy.”
The first black minister in Italy was present at the Stadio Dall’Ara for tonight’s friendly against San Marino. Before the game, both captains read out an anti-racism message.
“The Italy that applauds players like Balotelli and Ogbonna is the better side of Italy,” said Minister Kyenge.
“This Italy does exist and the Government will always be alongside clean sport.”
Balotelli stated this week that the referee might not necessarily be able to stop play if there are racist chants, as only he can truly define what an unbearable insult is.
“Balotelli’s words are a sign of reason for the institutions, the sport, the citizens and civilised society. His words give responsibility to all of us.
“I saluted all the players before the match and encouraged them. I also brought the message on behalf of Minister for Sport Josefa Idem, as we all stand by clean sport, respect for people and fighting racism.
“We must intervene with every instrument at our disposal. Racism grows from the lack of knowledge about diversity. We must work on the culture of non-violence right from the school rooms to the stadiums.
“We need to educate against violence as well as racism, focusing on non-violent language. There is a fine line between provocation and racism, but we have to work on the conscience.”
Santos confirm Robinho talks

Santos President Odilio Rodrigues has confirmed “we’re talking to Milan about Robinho and evaluating the requests.”
The club had hinted last week it would be lining up a new bid for the striker after a January move fell through.
“We are talking to Milan about Robinho,” Rodrigues told Radio Bandeirantes.
“We are evaluating the requests from both Milan and the player. He is always welcome here, but we have to understand whether the operation is possible.
“Aside from the dream and the desire, there is the reality. We cannot go crazy, so have to keep our feet on the ground.

Adriano Galliani confirmed the meeting between Massimiliano Allegri and President Silvio Berlusconi “could be on Sunday.”
Last night’s dinner between the Coach and Vice-President in Milan appeared to smooth things over, as Allegri is prepared to wait for a face-to-face with Berlusconi.
“I don’t want to answer any more questions regarding the future of the Coach,” Galliani said in Tbilisi ahead of Kakha Kaladze’s testimonial match.
“I will just say that very soon there will be a meeting between Allegri and Berlusconi. It’s possible this meeting could be held on Sunday evening.”
It is looking increasingly likely that Allegri will remain at San Siro, turning down the three-year contract proposed by Roma.
“It is a vexed question,” said Berlusconi on Mattino Cinque this morning.
“I think we will meet with Galliani and the Coach probably by Sunday night and from there a solution will emerge that is not difficult to find if everyone puts themselves in the right direction, looks to their conscience and tries to choose what is best for our Milan.”
Criscito: 'I was close to AC Milan'

Domenico Criscito admits he was “very close to joining Milan,” but is now expected to stay with Zenit.
The Italian international defender had also been linked with Juventus, Inter, Genoa, Napoli and Roma in recent months.
“I had been very close to joining Milan, but not Inter,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “When I was at Genoa I had already received a proposal from Milan, but President Enrico Preziosi decided to postpone any talks for six months.
“After that, no more offers came in and so I accepted Zenit. I will return to Italy sooner or later, but right now my present is at St Petersburg, where the club believes in me and almost certainly I’ll be there next season. Of course, anything can happen on the transfer market.”
Criscito underwent surgery for a recurring knee injury that has ruled him out of the Confederations Cup.
“I am feeling much better and hope to be back for the Champions League preliminary round. I’d love to win something else with Zenit after the title in my first year and I’m happy there.
“As for Italy, I hope to return to the squad so I can play in the World Cup. I am training 100 per cent, twice a day, to get back as soon as possible.”
Ulivieri: Seedorf can't coach in Serie A

AIAC President Renzo Ulivieri has claimed that Clarence Seedorf does not have the necessary documentation to coach Milan.
The former Netherlands has been heavily reported as Massimiliano Allegri's potential successor at San Siro.
But the Italian Football Managers' Association chief has insisted that the 37-year-old won't be allowed to take charge of the Rossoneri.
“Seedorf can't coach in Serie A,” he told Rai Sport. “The license that he's taking with the Dutch FA doesn't have any value in Italy.
“Seedorf can only be an assistant coach in Italy with the current license that he's taking with the Dutch FA.”

Roma have drawn up a list of names they will approach if Massimiliano Allegri stays at Milan.
The Rossoneri Coach has been linked with a move to the capital club in recent weeks, but his future has remained uncertain following reports that a meeting between the tactician and Silvio Berlusconi has been pushed back until next week.
And according to Corriere dello Sport, if the 45-year-old does end up staying at San Siro, they will try and approach a host of other Coaches for the top job at Stadio Olimpico.
The paper believes that Athletic Bilbao's Marcelo Bielsa, Laurent Blanc, Roberto Mancini and Christian Panucci could all be interviewed for the post.

Clarence Seedorf’s agent has denied that the Botafogo midfielder has had any approach from former side Milan about becoming their Coach.
Massimiliano Allegri’s future at San Siro is set to be resolved in a weekend meeting with President Silvio Berlusconi and Vice-President Adriano Galliani, with it believed that should the tactician leave, former Rossonero Seedorf would be asked back to replace him.
However, his representative has asserted that they have had no indication from the club that the Dutchman is in their plans.
“They are rumours, just rumours. And honestly I do not think there is much to discuss about it,” Deborah Martin told Milannews.it this week.
“Certainly, I have heard the rumours, even I have seen the newspapers reporting on this, but the truth is that no-one has presented us with a contract.

Milan Channel director Mauro Suma has claimed that Napoli tried this summer to sign Max Allegri as their replacement for Walter Mazzarri.
Reports earlier this week suggested that the Vesuviani approached Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli with a contract offer in the wake of Mazzarri’s resignation on the last day of the 2012-13 season.
However, it has been claimed that Allegri, whose position at Milan remains uncertain, was top of the runners-up’s list.
“Allegri was first on De Laurentiis’ list,” Milan Channel director Suma told Sport Italia on Friday.
“He had contacted many, as he said so himself, but with Allegri he was insistent.
“For two months the President tried with Allegri before finally considering other Coaches.”

Chievo - AC Milan renew Paloschi

Alberto Paloschi will spend another season at Chievo after Milan agreed to renew the striker’s co-ownership agreement.
Paloschi originally joined the Flying Donkeys towards the end of the 2011 summer transfer market on a loan deal, extended the following year and then turned into a co-ownership agreement at the end of the 2013 January transfer window.
Paloschi, who scored seven times in Serie A last term, will now spend a third year at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, after Chievo and Milan agreed to extend their half-share agreement for another year.

Massimiliano Allegri will meet with Adriano Galliani and Silvio Berlusconi on Sunday, to determine his future at the club.
The Coach dined with Vice-President Galliani on Thursday evening, with that meeting seen as set to resolve speculation over his future.
However, on from reports that a decision had been put back to Monday, when the two will reconvene with President Berlusconi, the former Prime Minister has told reporters that it will take place on Sunday.
It is believed that Allegri’s chances of staying at San Siro for a fourth season have improved after Thursday evening and that the situation and the wait may force Roma to look towards a plan B.
The Giallorossi were assumed as waiting in the wings to sign Allegri, should he leave Milan, with sporting director Walter Sabatini in Milan yesterday evening, though ready to begin work in earnest.
Galliani was cornered by reporters on Friday morning as asked about yesterday’s meeting, which was caught by a photo published on Twitter.
“Boca Juniors lost, and we remain the most successful club in the world for at least another year,” began Galliani, in reference to the Argentine side’s defeat in the Copa Libertadores yesterday.
“The photos on Twitter of dinner with Allegri, this is technology…The author assured us that it would not be published and a minute later it was on Twitter.
“However, dinner went well, the sea bass was good.
“Was it the last supper? We are not blasphemous, the Last Supper is something else.”

The Milan situation will drag on until Monday or Tuesday, as tonight’s meeting with Massimiliano Allegri failed to reach a conclusion.
The Coach is only prepared to stay at the club if they offer an extension on his contract, which expires in June 2014.
President Silvio Berlusconi repeatedly postponed a crunch meeting, so Allegri had dinner with Vice-President Adriano Galliani at Il Consolare restaurant instead.
Reports emerging from that discussion suggest any decision will be delayed until Monday or Tuesday, when Allegri will finally get his face-to-face encounter with Berlusconi.
The patron is eager to bring in fresh blood and Clarence Seedorf has been tipped for the role next season.
Meanwhile, Allegri is keeping Roma waiting, as they want a response to their three-year contract proposal.

Prandelli backs Balotelli over drug claim

Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli has reacted with annoyance but backed Mario Balotelli over a claim that he dealt drugs a few years back in Naples ‘as a joke’.
A witness in the stand at a Camorra trial has claimed today that the current Milan striker, upon visiting the Scampia district in Naples back in June 2010, witnessed some drug deals occurring and wanted to be involved in selling to a customer ‘as a joke’.
Balotelli reportedly responded via his verified Twitter account in a posting that has since been deleted: “Ha, now I sell drugs! Shame, do not use my name for an audience.”
The issue emerged just before a scheduled Press conference for his Italian head Coach Prandelli, so inevitably it was brought up.
“It seems to me that Mario has responded, there’s nothing else to say,” commented Prandelli today.
“It is a topic that does not interest me at all. When he wants to talk to you, he will tell you what he thinks.
“Considering this topic is sensitive, there are serious matters and here we are talking about a joke.
“We would always want to talk about football in a critical manner, but when dealing with other topics there is always trouble, these are serious issues and it is unclear if these are allegations or otherwise, for us what applies is what Mario has said.”
The Azzurri are currently in training ahead of Friday’s international friendly against San Marino.
“We have a few problems of muscular nature, four or five players who should recover, but if we want to understand who is available we will have to wait until the final training session.
“Mario has trained well today, some time with the ball, and I think that he may be available. El Shaarawy, Montolivo and Barzagli, however, will not be in the game.”
Bojan's future in doubt, admits father

Super agent Mino Raiola believes that Massimilano Allegri has the support of the Milan players ahead of his summit this evening.

AC Milan have completed the signing of Verona midfielder Jorginho, Tuttosport have revealed.
The Turin-based newspaper claim that the Rossoneri have signed the 21-year-old Brazilian for an undisclosed fee.
It is believed that the Rossoneri will allow the youngster to stay on loan at Verona for next season to aid his development.

AC Milan are said to be the latest side with an interest in taking advantage of Thiago Alcantara’s low buyout clause.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich are all said to be considering making a move for Barcelona’s young midfielder, in light of his unusual contract situation.

Massimiliano Allegri has all but agreed a deal with Roma to become their new Coach, but will wait to find out his future with Milan.
Corriere dello Sport have claimed that the Rossoneri boss will meet with vice-President Adriano Galliani this afternoon at Via Turati, before heading off for a meal in the city, which could prove decisive for his immediate future.
The 45-year-old will hear of the San Siro side's decision at that meeting, and will then decide on what to do next.

The meeting with Coach Allegri and Vice-President Adriano Galliani to discuss the future has been postponed repeatedly due to the patron’s unavailability.
Berlusconi is currently in Sardinia and will be flying to Georgia on Friday for Kakha Kaladze’s testimonial match, where he’ll meet up with potential new Coach Clarence Seedorf.

The fixture list for the US tournament involving Juventus, Inter, Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea and more has been released.
The Guinness International Champions Cup runs from July 27 to August 7 in a series of American cities, culminating in a Final in Miami.
Today the promoters finally unveiled the fixture list, as the clubs will be split into an Eastern and Western Conference.
Juventus open against Everton in San Francisco on July 31, then if they win that match go forward to face the winners of Real Madrid-LA Galaxy in Los Angeles on August 3 as part of the Western Conference.
Milan begin with Valencia on July 27 in the only non-American fixture, as this is at Valencia’s Estadio Mestalla,
Inter take on Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea on August 1 in Indianapolis.
The winners of those games in the Eastern Conference go on to meet each other in New York on August 4.
All the teams come back together to play rounds in Miami on August 6 and 7, including the Final.
Meanwhile, Inter have also announced a friendly against Hamburg on July 27 at the Imtech Arena in Germany.

Alberto Aquilani touched on Italy’s Confederations Cup squad, Fiorentina feeling “penalised” for fourth and the problems at Milan and Roma.
The midfielder spoke at a Press conference from the Azzurri training ground in Coverciano ahead of Friday’s friendly against San Marino.
“I really wanted to return to the Italy squad and my decision to join Fiorentina was so I could impress enough to earn an international place,” said the former Liverpool man.
“Does Cesare Prandelli want quantity from me in midfield? I think that word should be deciphered differently. After all, Fiorentina had little ‘quantity’ in midfield, but we ran harder than any other despite having more quality.
“Both Prandelli and Vincenzo Montella want to earn results through playing good football. What would I give to be at the World Cup? It’s hard to say, but obviously the ultimate objective of any player is to represent his country.”
Fiorentina narrowly missed out on the Champions League spot and there was controversy over refereeing decisions.
“It’s only normal that there is anger. Fiorentina were certainly penalised, but now the moment has come to look forward. We had an incredible season and we lacked something, but we’ll try to bridge that gap next year.
“Stevan Jovetic? I think at this point he’s going to leave. Last year they promised if he stayed another season then he could choose his future. Aside from being a teammate, he is also a great person who would do well at any club.”
Aquilani had been expected to achieve great things, but never quite lived up to his potential.
“It’s easy to say that, but there were injuries, strange contracts and Coaches who came and went. I think it’s a little superficial to say I never lived up to my potential, but I accept it. I am still young and have much to give.
“Of course when I was an adolescent the plan was to see out my career at Roma, being a Romanista at heart. Things went differently, but I am happy with the choices I made, especially as at the time they were forced upon me.
“If Roma had won the Coppa Italia Final, then we’d be here talking about players making history for the club. In my view the mentality has to change, though it’s not easy and I don’t know what’s happening in there. Roma is a complex place to work.
“As for Milan, everyone was convinced I’d stay there. With seven games left in the season, Adriano Galliani made it very simple for me: he wanted to save money and therefore would not sign me outright. I’m happy to be at Fiorentina, so that’s all in the past.”
Massimiliano Allegri could go from Milan to Roma, two clubs Aquilani has experience of.
“He’s a great Coach and a great person. If he were to leave Milan, I think he’d be the right man for Roma.”
Astori: 'I am likely to leave Cagliari'

Berlusconi snubs Allegri again

AC Milan have reportedly communicated to Barcelona that they will not be taking up their option to sign Bojan Krkic outright this summer.
The Rossoneri last year took on the second year of Roma’s original two-season loan deal for the young striker from the Camp Nou outfit.
Reports as the season drew to a close were that, despite a minimal impact at San Siro, Milan were keen to make his move permanent, but only if the €15m purchase amount agreed last summer with Barca was dropped to €5m.

Botafogo’s technical director Sidnei Loureiro has played down speculation linking Milan with Clarence Seedorf.
It is speculated that the Rossoneri will turn to their former midfielder this summer to replace Massimiliano Allegri as Coach.
But, his current club say that his playing contract runs for another year and that no approach has so far been made.
“Have Milan asked for Seedorf from us? I think it is more necessary to speak with Clarence,” Loureiro told reporters this week.
“It is not a matter for Botafogo and the Rossoneri.
“He has a contract with us until June 30, 2014 and, to date, this hypothesis has not been spoken of.
“He trains with us and is very calm.”
Seedorf was cornered by reporters in Brazil too, but gave little away.

Adriano Galliani has confirmed on Thursday they’ll “find the best possible solution for Milan” and Max Allegri.
The summit between Vice-President Galliani, Coach Allegri and President Silvio Berlusconi had been scheduled for Monday, then put back to Thursday evening.
“I spoke to the President,” Galliani told Milan Channel tonight.

UEFA unveiled their Champions League end of season awards today and Milan feature heavily.
Defender Mexes picked up the prestigious award for best goal of the tournament thanks to his extraordinary chest and overhead kick from 20 metres out against Anderlecht in the group phase.
It was particularly impressive considering the centre-back hadn’t found the net since March 2011.
Teammate Abbiati was also in the awards for save of the season – although UEFA handed it to him for two incidents.

Speculation is that Massimiliano Allegri will depart for Roma this summer and former midfielder at the club Seedorf will come in as his replacement for a first managerial position in his career.
In considering the reaction to the rumours, which has included the Curva Sud releasing a statement against the proposal, Seedorf’s former Rossonero teammate has assessed the situation.

Pazzini will be out of action for four to six months after undergoing knee surgery this week.

UEFA's Executive Committee has approved stricter sanctions against racial abuse at their latest meeting.
The governing body have confirmed today that as of June 1, spectators found guilty of racist chanting will see their home stadium partially closed for a first time offence, and a full stadium closure for a second offence – coupled with a €50,000 fine.
Players or officials found guilty of racism will be given a minimum 10-match ban.

AC Milan’s Curva Sud fanbase have come out in support of the soon to be axed Coach Massimiliano Allegri.
The tactician is understood to have been told on Wednesday that he will be replaced this summer, with former player Clarence Seedorf set to take his place.
That expected switch has infuriated the club’s most passionate section of supporters who have today released a statement questioning the outfit’s proposed plans.
“We have to have our say on the latest situation that could be detrimental to the future of our beloved and glorious Milan and which, because we love these colours, we can not accept,” it read.
“Let's start from last year. In July we find ourselves supporting the club’s new project of focusing on youngsters to balance the books, seeing us say goodbye to some of the biggest champions of the last few years and the two best players from recent seasons,” referring to Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“We found all of the Rossoneri support against us, but we decided to embrace the forward-thinking line realising that there is a serious project behind it, made up of strong youngsters and a club with solid accounts.
“The championship starts with great difficulty and Allegri’s Milan seems to be in a hole. We, aware that contesting would be detrimental to the environment, take a stand and decide to support Milan in the most difficult moment.
“The choice works – a sort of tacit agreement between the Curva, Coach and the team to row in the same direction is made and, despite a team that in comparison to the Ferrari of the big European clubs is comparable to a 500, we begin to reap the benefits with the explosion of Stephan El Shaarawy and careful management of the players from Coach Allegri, who we recognize as having been the driving force of this project, and that with only one valued addition, Mario Balotelli in January, gave us the satisfaction of going from penultimate to third place.
“Today we find ourselves with a project which has just started (one year in certain sectors is only a small step) which will soon be dismantled because of the choice of the President.
“We understand, but do not share the idea, that who invests may decide to change Coach for personal reasons, but if we are talking about a project then you have to at least start with an affirmed Coach and not with people like Seedorf or others who have no experience and will take over a young side which is a month away from its first official engagement such as the difficult Champions League preliminary round.

Daniele Bonera says he signed a new contract with Milan because he believes he can still make a contribution on the field of play.
The 31-year-old, who would have been a free agent next month, this morning put pen to paper on a new agreement until June 2015.
“We never talked money as my intention was to stay,” the defender told Milan Channel after meeting with Vice-President Adriano Galliani. “I’m happy to still be a part of this club.
“The team is developing but ended this season well, there is a good mix of young and experienced players and it will endeavour to return to the top in Italy and Europe.”
The former Brescia and Parma man, capped by Italy, only made 17 appearances for the Diavolo in 2012-13.
“If I had the feeling that I would only be here as a reference figure in the dressing room then I would not have stayed,” he added.
“I really want to play, certainly my experience will be put to the service of these young players, but I am not satisfied and want to win so much with this shirt.”

AC Milan have extended the contract of Daniele Bonera until June 2015, the club have confirmed on Wednesday.
The defender, whose previous agreement was set to expire next month, was expected to put pen to paper on a new deal after meeting with Vice-President Adriano Galliani today.
However, Milan have made an exception to their rule of handing over 30-year-olds 12 month extensions, by giving the Italian a two-year renewal.
Bonera, formerly of Brescia and Parma, joined the Diavolo in the summer of 2006.
The 31-year-old made just 17 appearances for Massimiliano Allegri’s side this season.
Juventus and Roma were being linked with possible Bosman moves for the stopper capped 16 times by his country.

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri gave few details away after holding a meeting with Vice-President Adriano Galliani this morning.
Allegri arrived at Via Turati at 9.30am and left at 11.15am. It is believed that he was told that he had been sacked.
“I’ve got nothing to say,” he told journalists as he left the HQ. “I just enjoyed a long good coffee with Galliani…”
When asked whether he was still the Diavolo Coach, Allegri simply carried on walking without giving an answer.
Milan President Silvio Berlusconi is understood to have told Galliani to replace the former Cagliari man who is still tied to the club until June 2014.
As he is on a €2.8m annual salary, reports suggest that Allegri is now negotiating a severance package.
Allegri and Galliani also spoke at length last night at the Giannino restaurant in the city.
Clarence Seedorf is currently the favourite to replace Allegri at San Siro, while the latter is expected to be named as the new Roma boss next week.

The Corriere dello Sport claims that Milan will hire Clarence Seedorf as their new boss, as well as bringing Paolo Maldini back to the club.
The Dutchman, currently playing for Brazilian side Botafogo, is being tipped to be handed a three-year contract at Milanello to replace Massimiliano Allegri.
Seedorf only left the Diavolo last summer after spending a decade with the Italian and European giants.
He, however, will not be the only legend to return. Maldini is also set to be part of the new set-up at the club.
The 44-year-old spent over 20 seasons with the outfit before bringing his glittering career to an end in 2009.
He’s been out of the game since hanging up his boots, but the man who won 126 caps for his country is set to be handed an opportunity to return to San Siro.

There had been reports that Bonera was a transfer target for Juventus over the past few weeks.
However, according to the latest rumours, a meeting has been set up with Milan tomorrow to work out the final details of a one-year contract extension.

The director had previously stated a meeting with Allegri was planned for Wednesday and at that point everything would become clear.

Christian Abbiati hit back at Fiorentina’s complaints over the race for third by insisting “Milan were penalised.”
Several members of the Viola have insinuated they deserved to seal the Champions League play-off place, with general manager Sandro Mencucci claiming “we were third on the field.”
Today Manuel Pasqual also joked that “with a few more penalties, Milan could’ve won the Scudetto.”

Allegri is set to be axed by President Silvio Berlusconi this week which will free the former Cagliari man to join Roma.

“With a few more penalties Milan could have almost won the Scudetto this season,” joked Fiorentina’s Manuel Pasqual on Tuesday.
The defender made that remark in an interview with Radio Toscana just days after the Rossoneri pipped the Viola to the last remaining Champions League spot.
With six minutes of the season left, the Viola were in third until Milan – losing 1-0 at Siena – were handed a controversial penalty. They went on to win 2-1.

The Silvio Berlusconi letter scandal took another twist, as Il Processo di Biscardi claimed they were dictated the message in a recorded phone call.
This evening a letter supposedly from Milan President Berlusconi was read out live on television by Aldo Biscardi in a show that the patron has often appeared on.
Berlusconi was due to give a phone interview tonight, but instead sent a letter that was read out, effectively firing Coach Massimiliano Allegri and announcing “a complete re-organisation of the club structure.”
The official Milan website released a statement denying the letter was real, but Biscardi is sticking by his story.
“This evening President Berlusconi called me up personally and apologised for not being able to make the phone interview, but instead gave me this message that he said he trusted me to read without changing a single comma.
“I recorded his message on my phone and I stand by it, absolutely. If the Milan website released this statement denying it, then that is down to internal politics.”
This fuels speculation that the letter was genuine, but that Berlusconi jumped the gun, as Vice-President Adriano Galliani insisted the decision on Allegri’s future would only be made on Wednesday.

There is huge confusion after Milan denied a message from President Silvio Berlusconi sacking Coach Max Allegri was real.
The club is in chaos this evening after a letter stated as officially from Berlusconi was read out live on television programme Il Processo di Biscardi, where he had been due to give a telephone interview.
Berlusconi has appeared on this show several times, so the letter was considered to be absolutely credible.
However, Milan’s official website has now released a statement assuring “Honorary President Silvio Berlusconi announces he has not made any statements today, nor wrote a letter about Milan.”
The letter had been particularly scathing, suggesting Allegri and the entire coaching staff would be removed.
“There will be a complete change in the coaching staff. We will also, if necessary, re-organise the club structure,” read the letter that has now been denied by Milan.

Commenting on the Milan penalty incident, Pradè was scathing.
“We are impotent when faced with these situations, as there is nothing we can do. We went from euphoria to depression tonight, but I can also say that I expected this to happen. The epilogue had already been written.”

Massimiliano Allegri is still refusing to confirm his future, pointing out “it’s Milan’s decision. I have a contract.”
The Coach has been heavily linked with the Roma job amid talk of a three-year deal lined up.
This evening the Rossoneri snatched a Champions League play-off spot by scoring two goals in the last six minutes to beat Siena 2-1.
“I have a contract, so when a season ends you talk to the club in order to find out what we are supposed to do. The club might want to replace me, I don’t know!” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I certainly can’t walk away, as I have a contract, so it is their decision. When a Coach talks to his club, of course he wants to improve the squad, but right now talking about the future is too early. The season has just ended, let me enjoy this victory!
“Right now I want to talk about the game and what happened this evening, plus what the team achieved with 42 points in the second half of the season.
“It was normal to be a little tired, above all psychologically, after this incredible fightback from a poor start to the campaign.
“Tonight we ran into a great goalkeeper and hit the woodwork, while we were a little too hasty and felt the tension of the occasion.

Milan were losing 1-0 to Siena until Mario Balotelli converted a soft penalty for a Dias Felipe shirt tug.
“During a year you get some penalties that are dubious and are turned down others that are stonewall. We were two points ahead going into the weekend, our destiny was in our hands, so we got the victory.”
President Silvio Berlusconi told people Allegri already signed for Roma and then pulled out of a planned meeting at the training ground on Saturday.
“He called me yesterday morning. He was supposed to come see us, but due to personal reasons was unable to come,” continued the Coach.
“In three years the President has given me faith and could so easily have fired me this season after the first eight games. We have introduced many new young faces to the mix and improved the older figures too, so Milan have solid foundations.

AC Milan really cut it fine, scoring twice in the last six minutes to win 2-1 in Siena and secure a Champions League place.
It was all in the Rossoneri’s hands, as a win here would secure third place regardless of what Fiorentina did in Pescara. Sulley Ali Muntari was suspended with Kevin-Prince Boateng, Bojan Krkic and Nigel De Jong injured, but Riccardo Montolivo returned and Stephan El Shaarawy was benched. Siena were already relegated, but caused big problems for Napoli last week, so had no intention of being sacrificial lambs. At the same time, Siena have only beaten Milan once, home and away, with two draws and 14 defeats.
The visitors came out fighting, as in the opening minutes Gianluca Pegolo already had to beat away a Robinho snapshot and Mario Balotelli screamer. However, as news filtered through from Pescara that Fiorentina were in front, Siena started notching up a series of corners and Massimo Ambrosini risked giving away a penalty for a shirt-tug on Roberto Vitiello. M’Baye Niang had to anticipate Mattia Rubin, who was free at the back post.
Pegolo flew to palm a Robinho curler round the upright, but Siena took the lead after the Milan defence fell asleep.
Alessandro Rosina chipped up a pass and Claudio Terzi was allowed a free header to beat Christian Abbiati. The defender was completely ignored, so it was not surprising this was the 15th header Milan have conceded this season.
Antonio Nocerino volleyed an Ignazio Abate cross over from six yards, then Balotelli’s header smacked against the crossbar from point-blank range.
However, Siena were threatening a second too and Innocent Emeghara’s cheeky backheel flick was deflected out for a corner off Cristian Zapata, Rosina’s cross flashed past everyone in the six-yard box.
In first half stoppages Balotelli’s fierce free kick was palmed away by Pegolo, as Milan went into the break trailing.
Giampaolo Pazzini replaced the deeply disappointing Niang for the second half, but Milan were still moving the ball around far too slowly and not creating any chances.
Philippe Mexes wanted a penalty for a handling offence, but he appeared to kick it on to Rubin’s leg from point-blank range and it ricocheted back up on to his hand.
El Shaarawy was finally introduced and his powerful drive was plucked out of the air by the goalkeeper, then his header was over the bar from close range.
It got even worse for the Rossoneri, as captain Ambrosini was sent off for a sliding tackle on to Calello, his second booking. At least it evened up, as moments later Christian Terlizzi was sent off for a very high tackle on Pazzini.
Balotelli was booked when he wanted a penalty, as both had their feet high in the box, then Abbiati got down to smother an Emeghara snapshot.
Pegolo bravely blocked at Balotelli’s feet, then beat away one of Super Mario’s powerful free kicks. Siena threatened on the counter-attack, but El Shaarawy got back to stop Agra from shooting.
The referee pointed to the spot when Dias Felipe hauled down Balotelli in the box. Balotelli kept his cool, as always, to convert the penalty, but Milan needed a victory.
They poured forward in desperate waves and it paid off! Mexes chested down a cross and his first shot seemed to be blocked by Pegolo, but he lost control of it and the French defender managed to toe-poke it in from a couple of yards.
Referee Bergonzi accidentally showed a red card to Felipe instead of the yellow and apologised, but Milan played out the final minutes to secure a Champions League spot.

Massimiliano Allegri claims “there’s no sense talking about the future” before Milan’s trip to Siena.
Again this morning the newspapers are reporting Allegri has agreed a three-year contract with Roma, backing up what President Silvio Berlusconi said at an event late Thursday night.
The patron was meant to fly in to the training ground for a meeting today, but pulled out at the last minute.
“Is this my last Press conference at Milanello? Yes… of the season,” smiled Allegri. “Nobody is thinking about the future right now.
“I spoke to Berlusconi yesterday, but unfortunately due to personal commitments he was unable to come today.
“We have reached the end of the season, which has been rich with satisfying moments. We need to win in order to maintain third place, fundamental for the Champions League, but our season has not been a failure.
“Siena will not be depressed or upset, as they will be eager to get a great result and leave Serie A with their heads held high. The lads had a great week to prepare in the best way possible for this match.”
Milan will be sure of third place if they beat Siena, but failing that they must hope Fiorentina do not beat Pescara.
“We are two points ahead of Fiorentina and certainly have done more than them. It’s a shame that one of the two teams has to miss out on the Champions League,” continued Allegri.
“The Viola play good football, but this sport is about results. You can only win one or two games without deserving to, but then you build something great the way we did. In Italy there is this obsession with tactics, so you can even win when playing badly.
“The tension is high right now, but that is only right considering the match we are facing. Siena want to end the season well, they caused problems for Napoli last week and we must do well to keep the concentration on full for 90 minutes.
“I haven’t decided anything about the future yet, as tomorrow night is a very important game. After that, I will talk to the club, but at this moment the issue of the Coach is at the bottom of our priorities. Right now we just need to win against Siena. After the season is over, we will talk about what’s going to happen.”
This week Mario Balotelli threatened to abandon a game if he heard more racist chanting, but the referees warned anyone who leaves the pitch without permission from the referee will be sent off.
“It would be best if Balotelli stayed on the field all the time, obviously. The decision is down to the authorities.”
Riccardo Montolivo is back in the squad after a thigh strain, but Kevin-Prince Boateng doesn’t make the trip due to a knee problem and Sulley Ali Muntari is suspended.

Newspapers claim Massimiliano Allegri has agreed a three-year contract with Roma, but today he speaks to Milan President Silvio Berlusconi.
The rumours around Allegri and Roma have been circulating for some time, but hit overdrive late Thursday night when Berlusconi told people at an event that the move would be announced after the Siena game.
The President is set to arrive at the Milanello training ground today in his helicopter for talks with the team and his Coach.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Allegri met with director Walter Sabatini on Monday to thrash out the details of a three-year contract worth €3m per season.
They also calculated the shopping list for the summer, including his old Cagliari protégées Davide Astori and Radja Nainggolan.
Other targets are Corinthians midfielder Paulinho and winger Wallace.
However, should there be problems with Allegri, then Roma are also keeping alive their links with Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri.
Borja Valero: 'Fiorentina deserve third'

Borja Valero concedes Fiorentina have little chance of securing third place, but “we deserve it more than Milan.”
The Viola are two points behind with one game to go, but have a superior head-to-head record so finishing level would send the Tuscans through to the Champions League.
“There is a minimal chance of reaching the Champions League zone, but we have to go to Pescara in order to win and then we’ll see what happens,” the Spaniard told Sport Mediaset.

The Milan striker has seemed a different person since returning to Serie A from Manchester City in January, scoring 11 goals in 12 games.

AC Milan assistant manager Mauro Tassotti focused only on Siena and warns you’ll know Massimiliano Allegri’s future “in three or four days.”
The speculation hit overdrive late last night when President Silvio Berlusconi was heard telling people at an event that Allegri was going to Roma next season.
“The President has always been close to the team and have us a big hand in difficult moments to help our season change,” Tassotti told Milan Channel.
“His visits to Milanello did us a lot of good. As for what will happen at the end of the season, we’ll see in three or four days.”
Before that, the Rossoneri must win away to relegated Siena on Sunday night to secure third place despite Fiorentina’s pressure.
“The team is in good shape, though we’ll be without Sulley Muntari and the usual injured players. There is a little tension, as it’s a decisive game in Siena, but we need to remain calm – if possible – and win to make this an important season.
“The lads are accustomed to living with speculation, so they are concentrated only on the match. It was a difficult campaign, but we have the opportunity to close on a high.
“We certainly cannot affect other results, so we can only pour all our energy into making sure we get the result that we need in Siena.”
Riccardo Montolivo returned to full training today and there is the possibility he could feature on Sunday evening.
“Third place would mean so much after selling important players such as Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” added Tassotti.

Referees: 'Walk off, you're sent off'

Mario Balotelli threatened to walk off the field if he hears racist abuse, but the Referees’ Association warned he “will be sent off.”
Milan striker Balotelli made the threat during an interview with CNN this week after the Milan-Roma game had to be halted by the official due to persistent racist chanting from the Giallorossi supporters.
However, there is a protocol in place that rules referees must stop play, wait for a message to be read out on the tannoy system and then if it persists the official can abandon the game.
“Everyone is free to express their opinions as they wish,” Referees Association (AIA) President Marcello Nicchi said today. “But there are rules.
“Those who leave the field of play to protest without telling the referee will be sent off by the referee.
“But I hope it does not come to that. It would be a defeat for the system and to everyone involved.
“You have to give less importance to the phenomenon of racism from the media’s point of view and start to be hard against the shameful act itself.”
This is the same official approach taken by UEFA and FIFA, as players cannot simply walk off the field during a competitive match without permission from the referee.
While Kevin-Prince Boateng faced no disciplinary action when he abandoned the Pro Patria-Milan match due to racist abuse, that was a midweek friendly.

Silvio Berlusconi has made his biggest hint yet that Massimiliano Allegri will leave Milan at the end of the season.
The Rossoneri Coach has been rumoured to be on his way out of San Siro for some time, and several Italian media outlets have reported this monring on quotes attributed to the former Prime Minister made on Thursday evening.
“Allegri will go to Roma,” the politician told reporters. “The announcement will come after the game against Siena.”

AC Milan have paid tribute to David Beckham, after their former midfielder announced his retirement from the game this afternoon.
The England international played nearly 30 times for the Rossoneri between 2009 and 2010, but today confirmed he would end his career this summer.
And the San Siro side have congratulated the 38-year-old, thanking him for his years of service.
A statement on the club's official website read: “One of Milan’s most famous fans is hanging up his boots. David Beckham, who spent 2 half seasons with the red and black of Milan, will play no more.
“An impeccable professional, he made his debut for the Rossoneri in January 2009 against Roma is a match that ended 2-2. He left the club in March 2010 with an Achilles tendon problem after the “match against Chievo.
“Always ready to sacrifice himself for the cause, Beckham on that evening got off the pitch as quick as he could to allow Milan to push forward and for Clarence Seedorf to score the game’s only goal.

Former Milan midfielder David Beckham has announced his retirement from football at the age of 38.
The ex-England captain will hang up his boots at the end of the season, five months after signing for Paris Saint-Germain.
“I'm thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue, but I feel now is the right time to finish my career by playing at the highest level,” he stated.
“If you had told me as a young boy I would have played for and won trophies with my boyhood club Manchester United, proudly captained and played for my country over 100 times and lined up for some of the biggest clubs in the world, I would have told you it was a fantasy. I'm fortunate to have realised those dreams.”
Beckham became a household name while at Manchester United, a club whom he joined as a 14-year-old.

The London-born player opted for a switch to the MLS in 2007 with LA Galaxy, but subsequently spent two spells on loan at Milan in 2008-09 and 2009-10.

Andrea Poli says he knows nothing of the rumours that Sampdoria have sold him to Milan in a €6m deal.
The Italian international was thought to be a target for Juventus, but reports suggest that the Diavolo have beaten the champions to the 23-year-old.

The midfielder has been linked with West Ham today seeing as the 35-year-old’s contract will expire next month.

According to Sport Mediaset, the 35-year-old could be set for a move to England if he isn’t offered a new 12-month deal at Milanello.
West Ham, the report claims, are ready to hand the former Italian international a two-year contract.
Ambrosini, who is also of interest to MLS outfit Chicago Fire, is set for talks with Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani next week.

Mario Balotelli told CNN if he is racially abused again, “I’m going to leave the pitch” and was “not surprised” Manchester City sacked Roberto Mancini.
The Milan striker was insulted by a small section of Roma fans at San Siro during Sunday’s 0-0 draw. Referee Gianluca Rocchi followed protocol by stopping the game for two minutes while a statement was read out over the tannoy system warning it could be suspended if the chanting continued.
The Giallorossi were fined €50,000 for the incident, but FIFA President Sepp Blatter and Milan teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng said it was not enough.
“I always said that if it happened in the stadium and nobody say nothing, I don’t care,” Balotelli told CNN.
“But I changed my mind a little bit. If it happens one more time, I’m going to leave the pitch, because it’s so stupid.
“I spoke with Prince and I was about to leave the pitch on Sunday, but they’re gonna think we want to leave because we’re having some difficulty with the game, then we’re gonna win 3-0, but I said no, no, it’s better we play.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said Napoli have first say on Josip Ilicic, but extraordinarily suggested “Sepp Blatter is racist against Italians!”
The patron is absolutely no stranger to controversy and made the comments on Radio Kiss Kiss. This week FIFA President Blatter stated a €50,000 fine to Roma for racist chanting against Mario Balotelli was insufficient.
“Did you see the big deal Blatter made about the racist chanting at Balotelli? As if we were racists. But the real racist is him,” said Zamparini, whose Palermo have been relegated.

Meanwhile, Zamparini also revealed the bidding war over midfielder Ilicic does have a favourite.

Boss Massimiliano Allegri and forward Robinho clashed in Milan training on Wednesday, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is being claimed that the two exchanged words at Milanello earlier today in front of about 100 guests who were watching the session.
Allegri is understood to have pulled the Brazilian up in training and the striker didn’t take well to the criticism.
Allegri asked the South American to then finish the session early and the former Manchester City man subsequently headed into the changing rooms.
Milan are preparing for their crucial last day of the season game at Siena where they need a win to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The futures of both Allegri and Robinho with the Diavolo are in doubt.
The player was close to moving back to Brazil in January, while owner Silvio Berlusconi is said to be thinking of a coaching change despite Allegri’s contract running up to 2014.

AC Milan are ready to do battle with Juventus on the transfer market for Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli.
That is according to Sky Sport Italia calciomercato expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who today claims that the Rossoneri have him on their radar.
Juventus are understood to have re-opened talks for the Italian international after they failed with a January bid.
The 23-year-old is set to be sold by the Marassi outfit this summer as his contract expires in June 2014 and they don’t want to run the risk of losing him on a Bosman.
An offer of around €6m may be enough to sign the former Under-21 international.
Poli, who spent last season on loan at Inter, has scored three goals in 30 Serie A games this term.

Cristian Zapata is hoping that he has done enough at Milan this season to earn a permanent move to the Italian giants.
The Colombian joined the Diavolo in the summer on a €400,000 loan deal from Villarreal. Milan have the option to sign him outright for €6m at the end of the campaign.

Cristian Zapata and Philippe Mexes have taken some time to become the first choice combination at San Siro, but Allegri has hailed the international duo.
“I think that Zapata-Mexes is one of the best defensive pairings in Italy,” the former Cagliari boss commented.
“I am very happy with their progress as I am happy with all my defenders even if they have been criticised.”

Catania directors confirmed Milan and Inter made offers for Francesco Lodi, but so far there is “nothing official” from Juventus.
The creative midfielder and free kick specialist is hot property on the transfer market and had already been heavily linked with a switch to the Nerazzurri in January.
“As of today, we can say there was interest from Inter in January and there is currently a request on the table from Milan,” technical director Giuseppe Bonanno told Tuttojuve.com.

Kevin-Prince Boateng agreed a €50,000 fine for Roma was not enough against racism, but insisted “there cannot be a Milan without Massimiliano Allegri.”
The Rossoneri star sat down for a Google+ Hangout this evening, fielding questions from fans and teammates all over the world.
He was asked about the fact Milan-Roma was suspended for two minutes due to racist chanting and FIFA President Sepp Blatter’s complaint a €50,000 fine was ‘unacceptable.’
“What happened on Sunday was really sad. A fine isn’t enough, I’m sorry for Roma the club and their fans, but in my view it is too small a figure.
“I spoke to the referee and asked if he could hear the monkey noises. He said yes and the next time he heard them, he’d suspend the match. He made a courageous choice. It is important to fight these things.”
Boateng has by his own admission not had a great campaign.
“The fans applauded me against Barcelona, now they are jeering. I do understand them, as they see a player with the Number 10 jersey at Milan who only scored three goals. It has been a difficult season for me.
“There is also criticism of Stephan El Shaarawy, but that’s just crazy. He scored so many goals and really helps the team. In football you must look beyond goals and assists, as Stephan gives a big helping hand in defence. In my view, he is Milan’s player of the season.
“Many told me Mario Balotelli was mad, but instead he’s a great professional as well as a great player.”
The newspapers are full of speculation that President Silvio Berlusconi wants to sack Allegri, but Boateng firmly put himself on the tactician’s side.
“He did great work in these three years and needs to stay. In my view, there cannot be a Milan without Allegri.
“Next year we have to do better, as there were so many new players this time. We need to work together so we can win the Scudetto.”
The Ghanaian also chatted to his Milan teammates during the Google Hangout.
“Before a game I listen to hip hop music, as that fires me up. When getting changed I always put the right boot on first. My best goal was against Barcelona.

Stephan El Shaarawy is fired up for Milan’s do-or-die trip to Siena and admits “it would be wonderful to end the season with a goal.”

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has hit out at the Italian Football Federation, insisting that fining Roma for racial abuse is not enough.
The Giallorossi were handed a fine of €50,000 after a section of their supporters were heard chanting racial epitaphs at Milan players.
But the governing body's chief has claimed that a more severe punishment should have been handed out.
“It's not surprising that the Italian disciplinary committee has decided to only fine 24 hours after what happened, and without even investigating,” he told reporters.
“To hand out just a fine is unacceptable.
“I will be calling that Italian Football Federation.”

Fabio Capello has tipped Juventus to win their third straight Scudetto next season, while he’s urged Milan to keep Massimiliano Allegri.
The Old Lady strolled to the League title this term and Capello, a former Coach and player for the club, expects more success next May.
“Juventus, who are already working on strengthening the side, will win again next term without any problems,” the Russian national boss told Rai Sport.
“I don’t see any other sides who can get to the top. There is not the money to buy important players and, if that wasn’t enough, the best Italians are now wanted abroad.
“Everyone is getting weaker, while Juventus are the only ones looking to improve.
“The only side who I think could give more are Roma as they have an excellent squad with a lot of youngsters.
“After a bit of coaching confusion over the last few years, they need to take an important decision over a boss who can guide them from the start to the finish.”

AC Milan have rejected speculation that boss Massimiliano Allegri has held talks about becoming the next Coach of Roma.
The tactician’s future is in doubt and, although his Diavolo contract expires in June 2014, he’s apparently on Roma’s wish-list along with Napoli’s Walter Mazzarri.
There were reports that the former Cagliari Coach had discussed the possibility of a summer move to the capital, a theory which has been rubbished.
“With regard to stories published today in a few newspapers, Massimiliano Allegri denies that he has met with any representative of Roma,” a brief statement read.
Allegri, 45, is in his third season at Milan. He won the Scudetto in his first season, came second last term and is currently third with 90 minutes of the campaign left.

Bonera, born in 1981, is out of contract in June and could be available on a Bosman if he doesn’t sign a Rossoneri renewal.

Italian 2006 World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso is no longer the Player Coach of Swiss side FC Sion, the club confirmed on Monday.
Gattuso, who left Milan last summer, was hired in February but he and assistant Arno Rossini have been replaced by Under-21 boss Michael Decastel.
FC Sion lost 5-0 to St Gallen at the weekend, meaning that Gattuso had only picked up 10 points from 11 games in charge.

“When Vice-President Adriano Galliani informed me of Zenit’s offer he didn’t even consider it,” the defender told Forza Milan! “He simply asked me to stay.

AC Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is happy to wait until the last 90 minutes of the season to qualify for the Champions League.

Allegri: 'Calm battle for third'

Massimiliano Allegri insists he is “calm” about Milan’s Champions League chances and told off Sulley Muntari for his red card against Roma.
The race for third is particularly tricky, as Fiorentina have a superior head-to-head record, so if they finish level on points with Milan then the Viola will get third place.
The gap is now only two points and next Sunday Fiorentina take on Pescara while Milan visit Siena, two teams who are already relegated.
“We have a game left and we have to win,” shrugged the Coach after the 0-0 draw.
“At the end of the first half we had some difficulties, then went down to 10 men and strangely played a little better after that.
“It’s a shame that we only got a point, as we have to stretch this season out to the very end, but we are aware that we can go to win at Siena. Don’t forget Fiorentina have to win too, so we’ve both got a battle on our hands.”
Muntari saw red for wrestling with the referee, physically preventing him from taking the card out of his pocket.
“Muntari really shouldn’t be doing things like this, as it is important for a team to have all 11 men on the field. We need to stay calm.
“We’re still in a positive position in the table, so can prepare with calm for the next match. I could’ve made some other changes without that red card, but that’s the way it went.”
Stephan El Shaarawy again seemed ineffective and Allegri revealed the problem.
“We are working on him and not only him. Stephan is well-known now, so he has to vary his style of play, but you can’t fault his intensity. He shouldn’t be obsessed with scoring a goal, but it’s only normal he can improve and has the quality.”
The match was halted for two minutes by the referee due to racist chanting from the Roma fans.
“Unfortunately the mentality is still retrograde. We must all try to improve, because people go to the stadium to see a spectacle and not for this sort of thing.”

AC Milan held Roma despite having 10 men for half the game, as Sulley Muntari saw red for wrestling the referee and Francesco Totti was also sent off.
The Rossoneri needed a win to secure a Champions League spot, while the Giallorossi were pushing for the Europa League and required a boost after Tuesday’s surprise home defeat to Chievo. A point each leaves everything in the balance for Europe until the final round.
Daniele De Rossi, Federico Balzaretti and Maarten Stekelenburg didn’t make the trip, while Miralem Pjanic was not 100 per cent fit. Max Allegri was without Riccardo Montolivo, Daniele Bonera, Luca Antonini, Bojan Krkic and Nigel De Jong.
The Rossoneri were wearing their new gold strip, which will be for the 2013-14 campaign. Christian Abbiati flew to palm away a fierce Marquinho snapshot that was heading into the near top corner.
Marquinho threatened again when skipping past Kevin Constant for Abbiati to smother low, while Francesco Totti fired over after a Constant howler.
Stephan El Shaarawy set up Mario Balotelli on the edge of the box, who managed to find space among four Roma players, but Simone Perrotta dived in with a crucial block on the edge of the box.
Marquinho again found space down the right, but Abbiati parried from close range and Philippe Mexes sold a dummy to waltz it out of his own box. At the other end, Sulley Muntari’s screamer flashed just over the bar.
Mattia De Sciglio burst down the right and his ball across found Kevin-Prince Boateng, but the finish was straight at Bogdan Lobont from point-blank range. Less than a minute later Totti tested Abbiati from distance with a powerful rising drive, as this game was end-to-end.
Balotelli’s free kick dipped over the wall and Lobont punched away at the base of the near post.
Milan went down to 10 men after a foolish moment from Muntari, who tried to physically restrain the referee from taking out the card from his pocket. It was not clear what had sparked the incident, but Muntari attempted to stop the official booking Balotelli and instead got himself sent off for manhandling the referee.
El Shaarawy’s diving header was deflected out for a corner before the break. Play was halted just three minutes into the restart and a message read out over the tannoy system urging Roma fans to stop making racist chants. The procedure in Italy is for this step to be taken and, if it continues, the referee can call off the game.
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo drilled just wide of the near stick and Lobont needed two touches to get a Balotelli free kick under control.
Marquinho chipped Abbiati from a tight angle and some desperate Mexes defending cleared before anyone could take advantage.
Mathieu Flamini tested Lobont at the near post, as the Romanian goalkeeper scrambled it under control at the second attempt. Miralem Pjanic blasted over from distance, but despite being down to 10 men, Milan introduced Giampaolo Pazzini for Flamini and went for broke.
Abbiati smothered a Pjanic daisy-cutter, but it was difficult to tell the Rossoneri were a man down. There was controversy on 87 minutes when Constant gave the ball away and appeared to trip Erik Lamela in the area, but timid penalty appeals were waved away.
Dodo stung Abbiati’s palms at the near post with a powerful effort and Lobont punched a corner off Balotelli’s head.
Roma also went down to 10 men in stoppages, as Totti saw Mexes coming up behind him and lashed out an elbow, earning a straight red card.
Burdisso’s header was off target after anticipating De Sciglio, then Mexes ran into Lobont after the whistle had been blown, prompting a scuffle.
With the last kick of the game, Lamela’s long-range attempt was caught by Abbiati.

AC Milan team medic Rodolfo Tavana has revealed the team’s new celebration is making fun of the way he walks. “It’s Boateng’s fault!”
The players have recently marked goals by putting their hands behind their backs, leaning forward and walking a bit like Groucho Marx.
“In truth, it’s Kevin-Prince Boateng’s fault,” Tavana told Milan Channel.
“He is very good at doing impressions. You should see him when he imitates Giampaolo Pazzini’s goal after he got injured against Genoa. He is great fun.

Max Allegri insists there’s nothing wrong with “a difference of opinion” with President Silvio Berlusconi as Milan host Roma.
The Coach has been under fire from Berlusconi and it was reported the latest criticism had infuriated him.
“Perhaps I explained myself badly,” shrugged Allegri in his Press conference. “I said that as other clubs and Coaches had been dragged into the reports, it did not seem right to talk about the future, especially as right now I am married to Milan.
“I am very pleased to hear the fans and players say they appreciate my work. It’s not necessarily true that if I at times have a difference of opinion with the President, it means we don’t get along. There is a strong rapport and after three years we are also linked by affection.
“There is dialogue and respect. Of course, then a President evaluates what happens on the field and makes his decision, but he has always called me on the phone and we have a good rapport.

Massimo Ambrosini warns it’d be a mistake to sack Massimiliano Allegri, but concedes Milan President Silvio Berlusconi “rarely changes his mind.”
The Rossoneri look set to secure third place and access to the Champions League preliminary round despite a dire start to the campaign in which they lost most of their star players.
That is probably not enough to keep Allegri in his job, as captain Ambrosini essentially confirmed the rumours surrounding the Coach.
“We were able to maintain our calm during the chaos of the start of this season and people must recognise the credit belongs to Allegri,” Ambrosini told Sky Sport Italia.
“He did so well to stay relaxed during even the most difficult moments and transmit those feelings of calm to the squad.
“It’d take some real courage to change the Coach, considering the great results he has achieved over the last three years. I think Milan ought to confirm him.”
Nonetheless, President Berlusconi has been critical of Allegri and seems adamant he wants a change of direction.
“A lot will depend on what is going through the President’s mind. I don’t know what he’s thinking, but I do know that when the President gets something into his head, he rarely changes his mind.”
It has been reported that one of Berlusconi’s candidates for the job is Clarence Seedorf, who has not yet finished his playing career with Brazilian club Botafogo.

Stephan El Shaarawy has claimed that he is best of friends with Mario Balotelli, and that rumours of a rift are false.
Reports earlier this season suggested that El Shaarawy had fallen out with the former Manchester City man after his January move to San Siro coincided with the 20-year-old's relative drop in form.

Mario Balotelli bagged a brace along with Sulley Muntari and Mathieu Flamini to thrash bottom of the table Pescara 4-0.
The Delfini were already relegated at the weekend, so had only pride to play for, while the Rossoneri sought points to secure third place. Mario Balotelli almost had the perfect start, as he smacked a shot against the bar after 116 seconds when a corner came to him in the six-yard box.
Uros Cosic clumsily tripped Antonio Nocerino on the edge of the area for a clear penalty. Balotelli stepped up and coolly sent Mattia Perin the wrong way to slot into the near bottom corner, maintaining his 100 per cent record from the spot. This was SuperMario’s 10th goal in 11 appearances for Milan, already a new personal best in Serie A.
M’Baye Niang had a rare start and flashed an angled drive across the face of goal to skim the back stick.
Sulley Ali Muntari doubled the advantage when a free kick was curled to the Ghanaian unmarked, his volley into the ground went in off the underside of the bar.
The second half started in similarly comfortable fashion. Balotelli sent Robinho down the left after Luciano Zauri’s slip, so the Brazilian whipped in the cross for Mathieu Flamini to tap in from six yards.
SuperMario added a fourth. Flamini controlled a Muntari cross-field pass down the right and pulled back for Balotelli, who turned on the edge of the six-yard box to fire under the bar.

Clarence Seedorf has confirmed he intends to become a Coach, but he’s not been offered the hotseat at Milan for 2013-14.
Reports in Italy are gathering pace that owner Silvio Berlusconi wants Seedorf to replace Massimiliano Allegri at the end of the season.

The Coach has been at the centre of constant speculation, both on who is meant to replace him at San Siro and where he will go next season, including Napoli and Roma.
“I have a clear idea on what I want to do next season, but what really irritated me was this collection of reports on things that do not exist,” he told Mediaset Premium.
“First of all, it shows a lack of respect for the other Coaches. I haven’t signed a three-year contract with Roma. I am an honest person and if I’d been in talks with other clubs, I certainly would’ve alerted by employers.
“I hope to remain at Milan, but it depends on President Berlusconi. He has the final word. I have always had a good rapport with the President, regardless of what the newspapers said. He always put his faith in me independently from some viewpoints we do not share. If they send me away, then that’s another matter,” he smiled.
“There’s no point talking about the future now, as things change so quickly in football. I can only say I’m happy at Milan and have another year on my contract.”
Milan consolidated third place and potential Champions League qualification with today’s 1-0 win over Torino, snatched by Mario Balotelli in the final minutes.
“It was a complicated match, as Torino caused us a lot of problems and we did well to win this game ‘rough.’ A victory that isn’t that convincing still helps you reach your objectives.”
Allegri also complimented Juventus on their second consecutive Scudetto.

Mario Balotelli scored another crucial goal and urged Milan to hold on to Massimiliano Allegri. “I’m really happy with him.”
The striker got a last-gasp winner over Torino to send them four points clear in third place.
“It is an important goal, but it will only be truly important if we manage to keep this gap over the next few rounds,” Balotelli told Mediaset Premium.
“When I got here Allegri was in charge and we get on really well. I hope he stays, as I’m really happy with him. If I were the club, I’d do everything to keep hold of him.

Mario Balotelli snatched a last-gasp victory that sends Milan four points clear in third place, but Toro should’ve scored at San Siro.
The Rossoneri had great news last night when Fiorentina lost to Roma, so had the opportunity to break away in third place. Riccardo Montolivo, Bojan Krkic and Massimo Ambrosini missed out, while Stephan El Shaarawy started despite carrying an ankle problem. Christian Abbiati returned in goal. Kamil Glik was suspended for Toro, so Valerio Di Cesare started in defence, while Mattia Darmian and Giuseppe Vives were back from bans. The Granata adjusted their usual 4-2-4 into a 5-3-2 system.
Alessio Cerci sprung the offside trap in the opening moments of the game, forcing Abbiati to save his angled drive. At the other end, Jean-Francois Gillet needed a double intervention to deny Sulley Muntari from distance, then stuck out a foot to parry Kevin-Prince Boateng’s follow-up at the near post.
Torino really should’ve scored on the counter-attack when Cerci’s inspired flick sent Paulo Vitor Barreto clear, but the Brazilian incredibly fired straight at Abbiati.
The Milan defence was under real pressure, as Migjen Basha’s cross flashed all the way across the six-yard box with nobody able to tap in. At the other end, Boateng couldn’t make firm contact on a header from point-blank range and El Shaarawy’s effort was deflected. From that corner, Philippe Mexes nodded on to Gillet’s back.
Max Allegri tried to throw on Giampaolo Pazzini for the not 100 per cent fit El Shaarawy. The Milan defence was regularly torn apart and Cerci flew down the right to sweep in a cross, which Barreto somehow fired on to Abbiati from a yard away and then deflect the follow-up on to the roof of the net.
Milan kept up constant pressure, but struggled to create without Montolivo in midfield and were always vulnerable on the counter-attack.
Robinho dribbled through a crowd of Granata jerseys to test Gillet at the base of the near stick.
It eventually paid off, as with six minutes left on the clock Mexes nodded an Antonio Nocerino cross back across the face of goal for Balotelli to turn in from point-blank range.

This morning the Corriere della Sera reported that there was already a three-year deal in place with the Milan Coach, but both clubs released statements categorically denying the story.
“There is no deal with Allegri,” added director general Baldini on Sky Sport Italia ahead of tonight’s match with Fiorentina.

Massimiliano Allegri joined the chorus of denials about Roma and Inter, insisting third place “would be like the Scudetto” for Milan.
The Corriere della Sera reported today that Allegri had already agreed a three-year contract with Roma despite being approached by Inter, but all three clubs have released official statements categorically denying the story.
“These are pure allegations and very disappointing, as I am an honest person and have always said if anything happened then my employers would be the first to know. I won’t talk about my future again until the end of the season, if not to my President and Adriano Galliani.
“I have a contract with Milan and I’m concentrated with the lads and the club to achieving an objective that was thought almost impossible a few months ago. AC Milan and Inter have taken the unusual step of releasing a statement that “categorically” denies Massimiliano Allegri agreed a deal with Roma.
The Rossoneri tend to brush aside newspaper reports over the future of Coach Allegri or the other alternatives considered for his job, including Clarence Seedorf, Marco Van Basten and Mark Van Bommel.
However, they wasted no time in responding to this morning’s newspaper suggestion that the tactician had already agreed a three-year contract with Roma.
“AC Milan categorically deny what was published today in the Corriere della Sera regarding its Coach Massimiliano Allegri,” read the statement.
It was released just hours after the story hit the newsstands and the rapidity of the response itself is raising questions. Roma also released a similar statement this afternoon.
Inter also sent out a press release “categorically” denying “there was any contact or requests to contact AC Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri.”
That had been part of the same Corriere della Sera story, suggesting Inter wanted Allegri to cross the divide.

Spalletti has been named as a possible contender to replace Massimiliano Allegri should the latter be axed at the end of the season.

The aunt of AC Milan’s Cristian Zapata has been freed less than 24 hours after being kidnapped in Colombia.
Maria Limbania was taken from her farm in Padilla by armed men in an apparent attempt to demand a ransom for her freedom.
“I was in my home,” she explained. “Then, all of a sudden, a hooded man smashed the windows, threatening me and my mother.
“They said they were looking for a ransom from my brother, Cristian’s dad. At first they told me that they were going to kill me, but then they reassured me that I wouldn’t be hurt.”

Limbania Zapata was in Padilla, in the rural Cauca region, when she was taken away by a group of armed kidnappers.
Local authorities confirmed the news of her disappearance, but for the moment there are no clues as to where the 36-year-old is.

Roma will not be bossed by Walter Mazzarri or Massimiliano Allegri next season, insists Angelo Di Livio.
The respective Coaches of Napoli and Milan have been paired with the capital club given that they are not set to confirm Aurelio Andreazzoli in the job.
Although Mazzarri is now expected to sign a new deal in Naples, Allegri continues to be associated with the Stadio Olimpico outfit.
“Mazzarri or Allegri? I don’t think any of them will arrive,” the former Juventus and Fiorentina midfielder told Radio Mana Mana.
“It would be impossible for two Coaches who would be playing Champions League football next season to come to Roma.
“As a result, the Giallorossi need to have an adequate alternative already lined up.”
The Corriere dello Sport is today suggesting that Allegri and Bologna boss Stefano Pioli are at the top of their wish-list.

Stephan El Shaarawy shrugged off interest from Manchester City today. “I’d like to stay at Milan for life.”
The 20-year-old hitman was presented with the Milan News Award as best player of 2012.
Asked about the reports Manchester City are ready to break the bank in order to tempt him away, the Italy international smiled.
“I’d like to stay at Milan for life.”
El Shaarawy has never hidden the fact he has been a Rossoneri supporter since childhood.
PSG outbid Italians for Zaza

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race to sign Simone Zaza, beating Juventus, Milan and Napoli’s bids.
The 21-year-old striker is owned by Sampdoria, but currently starring in Serie B with Ascoli where he scored 18 goals in 33 games.
Zaza has already attracted interest from the likes of Milan, Napoli and Juve, while Sampdoria are renegotiating the contract that expires in 2014.
According to Sport Mediaset, PSG have dived in with an offer of €7m – considerably more than the €5m so far proposed by the Italian clubs.
